I am scheduled for August 4th, in Maryland. I am on a light diet three days prior at least not pure liquid.. Still testing out the protien supplements available so I figured I would start them on August 1st, that would give me some time to fixate myself on something.

I have told a few people, mostly those I trust it is interesting because many people don't believe I was heavy enough to be put on the diet, however I have not told any co-workers and really don't plan to say anything to them I have a lot of food allergies so it is easy for me to say "oh I can't eat that".

I am excited... is anyone making homemade broths or using store bought? I have been in the process of getting both so that I can have some at work and some at home. I took off 10 days from work so I figure that would be enough time to heal and get aclimated to my 4 week liquid life.

I am a little concerned about the possibility of a hiatal hernia, not sure if I have one or not, never been tested... but I do have episodes of food getting stuck, and burping up food here and there, along with serious heartburn once in a while. I have been reading so much about the surgery my head is spinning... however, I am still ready to go thru with it...

Hello!

I too am on my Pre-Op diet and having a hard time with the Protein shakes! *Yuck* but luckily I can have a light meal in the evening.

I am in Texas, and I have only told my supervisor at work. None of my other co-workers know either. I think taking the 10 days off was great. You should be good to go by then. My surgery is Thursday, the 6th and I'm going to try to go back to work on Monday. I know I may be pushing it. But if need be, I can only work 1/2 days for a couple of days. I will be looking for you to see how you are doing if that is ok?

Hi Debi, 75 lbs is awesome!!! Congrats!!! I truly can't believe I've lost this much (I hit a 110 loss this morning!), I'm so happy I finely feel like me again!

Pickles - I workout 5 days a week, I love dance so I started doing Jazzercise! It's fun and a great workout!!! I also really have given up food....something I thought would be hard, but when you see the lbs start to come off, you'll see it's so worth it! I eat 3 times a day, about a half of cup of food and I really don't snack much. I now eat to live and don't live to eat. Best of luck to you!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
