July Butterflies Master Thread

The sweet thing is my demon too. But I am working on trying to keep it at bay.

I posted this below on another thread but wanted everyone's opinion here

Ok so I have been having pain in my upper left quadrant since Thursday. At first I thought it was just gas. I took gas x and drank alot of Water but that did not seem to help. When I walk, sit, stand it hurts. Laughing yawning it hurts. The pain seems to pierce through to the back.

I called my Dr today and he seemed to think it is a pulled muscle from working out with my trainer. So he wants me on liquids for 48hrs (which I don't know that has to do with anything) and no exercising for a week. I can walk but no jogging or lifting things.

I don't think it is a pulled muscle but since bathroom habits have not changed and the pain has been the same he wants me to give it some time.

What do you guys think? I actually have an appt with my PCP on Thursday just to see what they say, but I just think something is up

hummm that is strange. I have had a pain in my lower left side that is dull until I start exercising or doing housework etc and then a few days ago I had started having pains right under my left rib, have no idea what it is, but I did tell my doctor aobut the lower left pain and I will be having a CT sometime after my surgery this friday, so I have no idea, but it seems weird to that someone else is having pains there too...

Yeah that is weird.... I was looking on internet and it said maybe pancreatitis. I don't know I guess I will wait and see. Short of going to the hospital... I don't know

I hope everything goes well with your surgery. It must have been a tough road but you sound like you have handled it well.

Okay everyone,

I just came home from seeing my surgeon. He wanted to empty my band first but after talking to me and pushing around he just thinks I pulled a stitch in my port. But I asked him to do some blood work so he is doing a complete blood count, liver enzymes as well as checking the pancreas enzymes. I am glad because then that can rule out other stuff and then I will believe it is what he thinks it is.

...hummm, how do you pull a stitch in the port? I am glad he listened to you and is doing some research before just emptying you.

1day At a Time - I'm so glad you're being proactive about your health and not just meekly accepting the doc's rushed answers. I hope it turns out to be nothing serious.

Well, I have finally taken off 1 of the 2 lbs I had gained since the beginning of April. Standardized testing and Easter killed me!!!! Sugar is the DEVIL!!!! Now if I would only get off my BIG LAZY BUTT and exercise, maybe I would start really losing again. UGH!

That is what I said. apparently when I was working out I must had pulled something when I was doing these hanging ab things my trainer friends likes to make me do.

Oh I never take no for an answer especially if I think they are just trying to blow me off.

When you pull a muscle or anything in your abdomen it is painful...........take care!

Thanks so much. I am hanging in there and trying not to cough or laugh because that hurts like heck.

Okay all,

The doctor's office called me today and said my labs are fine. My white blood cell count is up a little but they believe it is because of the pulled muscle or stitch which ever one I did. They said to check back if I am not a lot better on Monday.

I hope I am because I want to work out with my trainer next Tuesday. In the meantime I am walking a little bit not as much as I need to because it hurts when I do to much. I want to push through it so I do not become to lazy.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
