4 days since my surgery and bad diarrhea....anyone else had this?

Hi all, this isn't the most pleasant thing to talk about....but....I've been doing pretty good since my surgery on Tuesday. But today around 11am I started having diarrhea and it hasn't stopped. I have literally went over 10 times since it started. Has anyone else experienced this? :rolleyes2:

Yep, unfortunately it happened to me too, post-op. I guess it's liquids in.. liquids out. Be careful not to drink much juice, especially apple! It will go away when you can start eating more solids.

yup!! unfortunately it didn't go away for a few weeks (especially when i started eating again). just do everything you should and it'll stop in time. hang in there!!

Yep same here and it lasted for about 2 weeks! It started the very next morning before I left the hospital.

Hi All, I am having the opposite problem. I have been banded for a little over two week and have been constipated the whole time. Sorry but there is no other way to say it, but, it looks like a rabbit lives in my house and it starting to worry me. Any thoughts?

I had the diarrhea the whole time I was on liquids which I guess accounted for the weight loss during that time. Now that I am on solids and eating mostly protein I am constipated and have to take a laxative twice a week do to that uncomfortable feeling. You can't win.

I remember having diarrhea after surgery. But I am pretty sure mine was from the liquid antibiotic. I was back to normal as soon as I was done with the medication.

I guess it is normal, I had my surgery on Monday, Tuesday I felt great but Wed and Thurs yuk

I had it the whole time I was on liquids and then had to take Myralax to reverse the constipation once I was on pureed foods.
