  1. I see that you are about a month out. I am also a band to sleeve revision and had some complications while in the hospital. I had to stay 5 days instead of the usual 2. My surgery was on 12/9 and I am feeling very good now. For the first few weeks I was iffy on how I felt. As long as you know from your doc that you are ok inside, I would just keep trying to drink your water; sometimes Water enhancers work. I was not able to drink plain water in the first month so I used enhancers and it went down just fine. Also, of course the Protein is important. Just sip, sip sip and keep plugging along. You should be able to eat your protein by now in foods but I have gone back to shakes at times. You'll feel back to normal soon. All the best to you.

    2 days post op!

I gets better. I am 7 weeks out and feel amazing. I felt terrible for about 3 or 4 days after surgery. Sip Sip Sip ...you'll do great.
  3. I have no regrets that I went from band to sleeve. I have no complications as I did with the band. I had the same exact problem as you with being able to eat anything with the band unfilled but getting stuck and throwing up constantly when it was filled. I never had that sweet spot that everyone talks about. With the sleeve it feels so natural yet getting satiated with very little food. I love my sleeve and suddenly food is not THE priority in my life!!!

    Considering the lap band.

    Very well said lisacaron????????
  5. My heartburn went away early on about 3 weeks out. Before that it was horrendous. Be sure not to eat (especially chocolate is a killer for heartburn) at least 3 hours before you go to bed. That really helps.

    Considering the lap band.

I had the band in 2007 and after esophagus complications a conversion to the sleeve on December 9, 2014. I couldn't be happier. I did lose 80 lbs with the band but did gain back 40. My band complications consisted of damage to my esophagus from acid reflux and motility issues. I also got a hiatal hernia. I never really felt full except high up not in my stomach. For me, I had trouble working this tool though I do know others that do very well with it.

    H-pylori-who has had it?

I had it and took the 10 day regiment and had my surgery on December 9. Doing great!!
  8. I had a crab cake on Christmas eve. It wasn't very big but I got in about 3/4 of it. Then for the main meal I ordered broiled sole and basically could only eat one bite. I also had a teaspoonful of creamed spinach and about 2 tablespoons of deep fried onions. It was good; I was very full.

stall at 2 weeks out?! help!

I am in the middle of a stall myself. I was sleeved 21 days ago and this has been going on about 10ish days. I'm thinking its going to break any minute Just keep doing the right things and your stall will end
  10. ok so today I am 21 days out. I had horrifying acid reflux until 3 days ago. I wound up eating earlier those 3 days and then took my omeprazole later in the evening and I didn't get it. But last night I left my omeprazole in my car by mistake and since I didn't feel like changing back into my clothes I took a chance and didn't take it. I had no acid reflux. I'm thinking that since I am probably less swollen inside now perhaps I'm not going to have this problem. I sure hope so cause it is so very annoying and painful too.
  11. I never had acid reflux before my lapband but I had it afterward. Now after the sleeve it was pretty bad. I am 10 days out and am taking 40 ml of omeprazol once a day. I have to take it later in the evening and it does the trick as long as I don't eat really late. I hate acid reflux more than I like food so it's a no brainer.
  12. I am in a stall also. Have been the same weight about 8ish days and i'm only 20 days out. I use MyFitnessPal so I know I am doing the right thing. Also going to try and not weigh myself daily. Maybe put my scale in a different place.

    The Dreaded First Stall...

I am only 20 days out and hit a stall right before 2 weeks. It is so weird. I'm eating how I'm supposed to yet I've been staying within the same weight (give or take 1/2 lb) for the last 7 or 8 days. Go figure.
  14. So today was my endoscopy. I had my band drained on Friday past. After they did the endoscopy the doctor came in to talk to me about his findings. He said "your esophagus is really beat up." He showed me pictures of it and told me what it's supposed to look like. He said that it also seems that I have an infection there as well. He gave me meds and also a prescription antiacid. He said that my band has not eroded into my stomach. I honestly am surprised because although I have suffered with acid reflux and it could get annoyng it really wasn't constant. He said that there is a possibility that I might have Barretts disease which can be very serious. He said that is what a person usually has that can lead to esophageal cancer but that the percentage is low plus that I may not even have Barretts. He told me to go on liquids for about a week and to take my meds and to make another appointment with a gastroenterologist in a month. If I do have Barretts chances are I won't be able to have the sleeve. He said that if it is a mild case I may still be able to have it. I'm hoping so much that I don't have this. p.s. I named this thread thinking that maybe someone with a similar issue would respond.

    Barretts disease

Hi there, thanks for the post. I'm 10 days out and I'm feeling great. I had vomiting for about 2 days but began to get better after that. Eating and drinking now and feeling wonderful. So happy I did this. I did have a problem with A Fib while I was in the hosptial and had to be shocked back into rhythm but am doing well now.

    Scars are red and itchy

Mine are very itchy too and I can see on the side of the steri strips that it is red. My doc also said if they get a bad smell that could mean an infection.
  17. I think a lot of us are learning that its a full time job to try to get in what we need. I am 5 days post op and I was able to get in 40 gm protein and only about 50 ounces of water although the night is still not over. lol I'm sure it gets better

    Any December Sleevers

thank you sweetie. So I was sleeved on the 9th and just got released from the hospita today. I had some complications but we got through that and I am doing great. Kind of feel just like I did before but with no appitite. Complication #1: I had a weak esophus with weak motility because of my lap band....so says my surgeoun. Because of that, I threw up for 2 1/2 days. Complication #2: They hospital was not prepared to transition me over to their intravenious drugs as far as HBP, Blood Thinner. So they gave me hardly anything. In the meantime I had my oral meds but couldn't take them due to the vomiting fiasco. So after 36 hours with me constantly asking about my meds and them giving me a royal runaround I went into full bown Atrial Fibrillation. My HR was going up to 200 and was beating so irregular. I wound up telling them to take me to the cardiac care unit and to also call patient advocacy. When I made that request, thats when they finaly brought me a bag of beta block. But it was supposed to be given ever 6 hours and so every time it ran out and then 6 hours went by, I had to ask them. There was no automatically them giving me the meds. Typically, I'd wait for the 7th hours before asking. Yesterday, I had to be shocked back into rhythm. I think a lot of hospitals are guity of this and people can die if they don't know to speak up. I could've had a stroke easily. Aside from those setbacks I am feeling great lol. Really I am and I have no regrets.
  19. I just had my sleeve done on Tuesday December 9. They are making me stay here for 2 reasons. First I am vomiting up Water which is all I've had thus far. I had to take the swallow test 2x because I was too swollen for it to go through on Wednesday. Today I passed it. I'll mention that I am a band to sleeve revision Second, I am now in atrial fibrillation. I have the kind that comes rarely. I'm not typically in a fib. The last time I had a fib episode was in October of 2013. This current time was because they dropped the ball on my meds. I did bring them with me but they wouldn't let me take them. I guess in this part I'm just venting because now tomorrow morning they want to shock me back into normal rhythm. I'm kind of upset because I was asking them for meds to the point I was getting very aggravated. I began to get a bit irate and asked them. Don't you know I could have a stroke? It was very unsettling and I am going to make a formal complaint. They all just sat around saying "ok ok we'll call your doctor." Ok enough of that. So my main advise I want to give is to make sure the hospital you are going to has something in place for you even if it's not the exact meds you take just so you won't have to go through what I am going through. It was horrifying. Yes I'm still in a fib today but yesterday I was reaching almost 200 beats a minute. Today it's still very irregular. But much slower. I was finally able to insist on my meds which my doc said I could swallow with 1 sip of water. It's a slippery slope because an hour or so after I take them I vomit. Just hope some of them are going into my bloodstream. Now for my main question. Did anyone else vomit even after passing the swallow test? I'm drinking tiny sips and about an hour later it comes up. Other than that I have not much pain or gas. This has been happening all day today
  20. Not sure how long mine was but I am guessing over 2 hours. He had to remove the lapband and repair the hiatal hernia.

    Had a horrible 2nd nite

I don't mean to confiscate your post but I am still in the hospital and only drinking water and vomiting about 2 hours after my sips. I hope this goes away. I threw up about 8 times in the last three days. Anyone experience this! My doctor is saying stop on taking anything. Then he'll say ok start again.
