  1. I had the sleeve at tufts medical center in Boston January 21 2015.
  2. Hello everyone ! I got sleeved Jan 21st 2014 ( YAY go me ) and have been part of this community for the last few months trying to connect with people prior to my surgery so I can get different experiences and answer my many questions. For the most part everyone has been great and I learned a lot. One thing that I did notice tho that kinda drove me crazy was I could never find anyone in my general location to speak to. So I decided to create a new thread and see if we can gather together new, old, and inspiring Massachusetts/new Hampshire VSGERS! So if your from around the area please feel free to post Ur experience or question and hopefully we can come up with the best responses! ( I think there is a forum section for location based question but most times people just go to the general section. Especially if your using the app like me it only shows the general sections. )

  5. People are way to worried about there weight...I understand that the purpose of this surgery is to lose weight but we have these really crazy ideas that we are supposed to lose it like right now...it doesn't work like that. It's a process the weight will come off but it takes time..your real focus should be recovering and getting used to your new life style..I am two weeks out and haven't stepped on the scale once and I won't until I am able to start working out again...I feel like people after getting this surgery forget that it is not a cure it's just a tool...plus any weight lose is good...I hear people complaining about it being 3 weeks out and they only lost 30 pounds?!?!...honestly before surgery have u ever lost 30 pounds in under 3 weeks. Just calm down. U will get there .
  6. I didn't get approved. It was a mess with this insurance...luckily once the new year started I had new health insurance which took care of me and I had my surgery 2 weeks ago now

  15. Just as the title states...I'm 9 hours away from a life changing event. In 9 hours I will be going under the knife. It took 8 months and a denial letter but I fought thru and now only 9 hours. Starting to get nervous...mostly excited nervous...but still nervous..

  18. I feel Ur plan same thing with me and bcbs anthem horrible...now I got tufts health plan so much better
  19. I had anthem blue cross of Ohio during this past year and I had to wait 18 days for a response. Submitted it December 4 and didn't year anything back until December 21 the morning of my surgery...and guess what..DENIED. all because they loss my medical clearance form stating I'm cleared for surgery. Sucked so much...now I have tufts health plan and had to resubmit my paperwork today..and so the waiting process starts a new. So in closing I feel your pain lol.
  20. Thanks ! Lucky the icanchange program is no over starting in January ! http://www.tuftshealthplan.com/providers/provider.php?sec=news&content=icanchange_program_no_longer_required
  21. So due to my current health insurance denying me because there wasn't an medical clearance letter included in my insurance packet and my insurance is changing to tufts on January 1 I was wondering if anyone had experience with tufts health plan ?
  22. My hospital has a weird policy they don't submit the precert until a date has been selected...they sent everything in on the 4th of December and anthem just has been giving us both the run around....wrong nurses dates and on Thursday we was both told that it was being escalated to a medical director because my nurse didn't have enough experience in my surgery to make a decision...they told me it was gonna take 24 hours Friday came and went with no call...so I'm hoping when I call at 8 am tomorrow i will have some kinda answer. If not I'm not gonna get off the phone until I do
