Hi there, My surgery is on December 9th. Yes, I have h-pylori which along with it comes the gastritis. I am on 3 different meds that I have to take every 12 hours. The names of the meds are: amoxicillin 500 mg, clarithromycin 500 mg and omeprazole 40 mg which is Prilosec. What are the names of the meds you are taking?

I am on day 7 of these meds plus on my pre liquid diet of Optifast and boy am I suffering with horrible diarrhea. Sorry for the TMI. I can't even leave my house. I sent my daug in law out to get me yogurt (which I'm not supposed to have on the pre liquid) but it did slow it down.Thankfully. Did you already start the meds? Hopefully, you won't have the same reaction as me. I usually am very sensitive to antibiotics in that way.

Hi! Sorry for the horribly late response. And the diarrea :) hahah. Im on a med called heli-pack. Basically allbof the meds u stated above are in it. I take 4 pills w breakfaat and 4 w dinnner. It make my stomach hurt a bit but tolerable. It does make my mouth tastr disgusting tooo!

I am taking 3 meds for the pylori helibactor which was positive. Surgery is on the 30th and pretesting on the 16th. I hope it's gone before surgery, A lot of gas with this!

This is what I don't understand. My gastro doctor says that in order to tell if the h-pylori is gone you would have to take the meds for 10 days, then take 1 dose daily of omeprazole for 30 days and then stop the omeprazole and then retest. By the time she retests me I will be post op. She says that 90% of people get rid of the h-pylori after 1 treatment.
