Question for those with good restriction

Recommended Posts

I have had really good restriction since my second fill but for the past 2 weeks or so, I have days where my restriction is normal but there are others that I am super super tight and I pb alot or throw up. This is not like getting a bit tighter during the week before my TOM, it is totally random. Does anyone else have this happen, am I normal or a mutant?

I must be a mutant, too, because I'm experiencing the same thing. Sometimes I feel like I eat too much, and other times I have pain and have to stop after a few bites.

Yup, I have the same thing going on. There are some days that it's all I can do to get any food down because it feels very tight and others I could eat the universe. (Not really, you get what I mean...)

Seriously, I've noticed if there's a air pressure system moving through my area I feel it more in my band that I did before the band. Also, I know I certainly feel stress in my band area. Since it's the end of the school year (I'm a teacher) I'm a bit tight lately, while finishing out the year. So, I think it's just something to pay attention to, and manage the eating accordingly. I used to PB when those times happened because I wasn't paying attention to the tight feeling, now...oh yeah....I hate to PB. Best of luck. :wink2:

There are a lot of things that can cause you to be tighter on some days that others. Stress is known to make the band tighter. Most women also say they are tighter during their time of the month. A lot of people are much tighter earlier in the day than in the evenings.

If you are throwing up, you should give your stomach a rest and stay on liquids or mushies for a couple of days. Throwing up causes swelling inside which makes the band tighter.

Are you sure you are taking itty bitty bites and chewing until it's liquid in your mouth?

Just one more thing to add to what Athinnerdenise said..... Someone on another thread (or site) mentioned that the heat and humidity was affecting their tightness. So, With everything that has been mentioned and with what I have also experienced in my very short time with the band, you are not alone in this.

Take care and keep reading and asking questions. You not only help yourself but you help others, like me:rolleyes:, see that they are not alone in their journey through this new adventure.

Good luck!

That is true. Never be afraid to ask questions. Those of us who have been banded awhile and finally made it to goal are usually very willing to help anyone. Living with the band is a learning experience.

There is also extremely good information to be found by doing thread searches, or going back and reading from the different sections. When I was first banded and for I would say the first 6 months, I spent

hours and hours here!

I could have written that myself! Somedays I can barely swallow my own spit and other days I can eat like a horse. What gives? LOL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
