  1. I could have written that myself! Somedays I can barely swallow my own spit and other days I can eat like a horse. What gives? LOL
  2. I ended up using Dr. Avara in Ocean Springs. Did you ever find anyone?
  3. He said I should not be vomiting on clear liquids. He asked me if I hear a bubbling noise when I swallow I told him yes, everytime. He told me that I have alot of swelling and my band is really tight. I now have to stay on clear liquids until I can start keeping them down and get this..I have to drink with a teaspoon! It is so hard! He told me if I can't get 2 liters down a day I am gonna get dehydrated. The good part of this is I am losing about a lb a day right now. I just hope I don't get dehydrated. <!--IBF.ATTACHMENT_21138-->
  4. I am 5 days post-op and still on clear liquids. I can tolerate some things, and other things I throw up. For instance, today I drank some diluted apple juice and within minutes I could feel a huge knot in my stomach all the way to my back and then I start spitting it back up. I have a call in to my Doctor, but I am really concerned about my band. I am a self-pay so the worry is even more intense. Did anyone else have this happen? If so, is your band fine? Thank you so much to anyone who replies.
  5. I live in South MS and am being banded in Mexico 2 weeks from today. I am also looking for someone to do my fills other than Dr. Avara..that price is crazy! Let me know if you find anyone. I have called all the way from Mobile to New Orleans with no luck.
  6. I agree about the negative comments. I actually had to quit reading most of the threads here because of it. You can't judge how successful you will be by others. That is what I keep telling myself. Hang in there!
  7. This is the MS forum..I think he was kidding you! I am from the coast as well.
  8. We live in Hurley..I am sure you know where that is!
  9. Wow! You have lost 36 lbs..that is GREAT! My bestfriend goes to that same gym you are speaking of. We actually live just North of Pascagoula.
  10. I am going to Mexico next month. I researched it so much and finally realized that it was a good option for me since I am a self pay. I cannot find a single complaint about the Dr I am going to. I will let you know the outcome. Good luck!
  11. I will be banded in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz/Martinez on this day!
  12. I am also from South MS. I have had a consult with Dr. Avara, but have decided to let Dr. Ortiz in Mexico do mine. The price is cut in half and I am a self pay. mrsjiggles I would love to hear how your progress is?
  13. I was determined to self-pay, but I called my insurance company today and they will pay 100% if my BMI is over 40 and I do 6 months with a Dr. under a diet program first. I am 7 lbs away from my BMI being 40. 7 lbs is nothing right? I could gain that in no time. I know it seems silly to gain weight first, but it's only 7 lbs and I could keep my $15K I was gonna pay. Any thoughts?
  14. I am sure the double post was an accident.. I am very sorry you are going through this. It really puts a perspective on things when I have such a tough decision to make on this surgery.
  15. Thanks once again for all your replies. I did talk to my Dr office today and the cash payment is $26K for the Gastric Bypass! That is wayyy out of my range! Anyway, it looks like I will still be moving forward with the band. I am so glad I have ya'll to help me through this. Thanks again!
