SOOO happy to find this site....

HI, My name is Judy and I had the lap band surgery on 3/31/08. I have lost 45 lbs and had my first fill last week. I am a little disappointed with my restriction at this time and am seeing the Dr on June 10 for a second fill. I was wondering if this is common not to feel restricted after the initail fill.

I didn't feel any restriction until my third fill. But...the PA allowed me to get a fill every two weeks instead of once a month because I was struggling with having no restriction. Ask your doctor if they will allow you to do that.

Congratulations on 45 lbs, however. I had mine on 03/18/08, and finally hit 20lbs today. You are doing great!

i just had my surgery 1 1/2 weeks ago. I don't really feel any restriction and I'm just counting on willpower, and newly learned habits to keep me from eating too much. Congrats on the 45 pounds that's really quite remarkable. I can't wait till I get a fill.

Congrats to you all.

I too hope to have success like you guys.

Good work!

I've also only had one fill, and I'm scheduled for my second a few days before yours, Judy! I don't feel much restriction either. After reading some of the stories on this forum, I'm glad that my doctor doesn't fill very rapidly and just does a little at a time. I'm sure you and I will both find that perfect fill before long. It sounds like you are doing fantastic! Who cares if you aren't restricted yet...you have lost 45 pounds in 2 months!
