Just got my surgery date - July 2nd! Who else is getting in July?

Too cool! I have to be there at 9a. I figure we will all be lined up after being prepped. It will be a long day if he doesn't get to me till the early afternoon. I hope they will give me some "HAPPY JUICE". I drank the Isopure this evening and it did pick me up. I drank some Gatorade too. I have my Liquid Tylenol, chewable Pepcid, and Gax X Tabs. Oh, and some Listerine Tabs. I am good to GO!:embaressed_smile:

Well f*ck. Had my preop consult today and my surgery date is now not until August 7. The nurse who told me it would be on July 24 didn't actually put me on the schedule, the doctor is on vacation the last week of the month, and only does surgeries on Thursdays.

I'm so depressed. I've been doing the whole pre-op diet thing and have lost 9 lbs in the last 2-3 weeks; now I feel like saying screw it.

To top it off, my doctor will be "out of network" as of July 31, so I'm afraid, even tho insurance has approved the surgery, that I'm not going to be fully covered.

Serious drag here, folks.

hi all i got the call this am that my stuff is off to bcbs michigan,should take a month to hear back,she told me because she had to mail my stuff in,no fax will they take.so crossing my fingers that it will be yes and hopefully i have a date in august@@@@ gl all:lol:

Lisa B, so so sorry to hear that, I know that must really suck. But please don't give up. Just hang in there you've already come this far.

LisaB, I'm so sorry! That really stinks, to put it nicely. I'm thinking that if you can't get in be the end of the month, you are going to need to find a new surgeon. But check with your insurance company about this. All of your paperwork should transfer, I would think, with the possible exception of lab work that expires in 30 days and that kind of thing.

Good luck! Hope you can get a cancellation or something.

Don't let this make you dive into the refrigerator! Food won't make this better, but it will make you feel worse about yourself.

Thanks, ladies, for the kind words. I managed to keep my "I'm PO'd" eating to two rows of rice crackers, but boy do I feel like camping out in front of the TV tonight with a glass of wine and a couple of slices of pizza!

Ah well, tomorrow is another day. And I'll move myself over to the August banders thread.

Lisa, that really sucks, but don't let it get you down. I would certainly inquire about the doctor being out of network, however. They could schedule you with someone that perhaps is in your network. I would call the ins. and ask.

I went to my post op today. I had lost 21.38 lbs since I was there 2 weeks ago! My BMI was down 4 pts! The Doctor hugged me! Told me I must be a very determined lady. I said, "You think?". I have one week left on Optifast before surgery on the 22nd. I actually ate a sandwich went I got home, as it will be the last one for a long time. Back to the shakes tonight!:cool2:

Lisa B, I'm so sorry. My insurance changed July 15th and I know how that feels having to find new providers. Hang in there and let us know what you find out from your insurance co.

I'm not going to go through a list and try to determine who added what names or whose date has changed. I have added everyone who has told me their dates but I don't trust the cut and pasted lists because people add their info but not everyone before them and it gets too confusing. If you want to tell me your date you can tell me, otherwise I will keep posting the list I have.
