My Scale Really Is Broke!

Recommended Posts

MY scale IS BROKE! I know we've all thought this sometimes but mine really is! Yesterday, I had an appointment with my doc and was elated to learn I'd lost 6 pounds since my last visit. Why was I excited? Not only b/c it was after a weekend get-a-way (that I felt my band took a vacation b/c I could eat just about everything) but also because my scale said that I GAINED TWO POUNDS! I've done all the tricks...changing the battery, moving it (which then it said I gained a pound in a minute!) and making sure I weighed myself without clothes and then with exactly what I'm wearing to the docs office and it LIED TO ME! How cruel! I'm excited, but I think I'm going to throw my scale out the window! Just wanted to share a laugh and encourage someone that maybe their scale is broke too!

Mine's broken too...but the other way. It told me 207 last week. Then I weighed on a friend's scale, and it said 217. That was with clothes and stuff on though. Then, I weighed several times and the average seemed to be 214. So I'm guessing that was right. It was the end of the day so I'm usually two to three pounds heavier then. In the mornings, I was about 211 or 212. Now it says 209 and I think that's right. I need to get a new scale!!!! Good thing tomorrow is payday!

I have a broken scale as well. I can change several pounds in a couple of minutes just by getting back onto it. It was the expensive, top-of-the-line, digital, lithium powered supposed to last eternally . . . it does last, the numbers are just wrong :0) Before I realized it was not working correctly (can you really gain 7 pounds, or lose 4 pounds in one day????), I was very upset about the erratic weight changes. It was thrilling to be down but devastating to be up.

I bought a cheap standard scale with the little wheel for $7 bucks at Target. It works great. It never changes unless it is supposed to and seems reliable. I'm a happy camper now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
