banded br dr. gonzales almost died

Recommended Posts

ok i'm gonna get my but chewed on here but here i go,,lets see you were banded 1month ago and you only have 20 lbs more to lose,, just how fat were you,,or were yiou starving your self,, and dr gonzalas who were does he practice, there are probly lots of dr gonzalas,,if you claim he nearly killed you then state the address of him so we all can be aware,,,i've trolled this site for a whileand see the statistics of band complications which on the percentages is about lessthan1percent, i' mean really complications no minor ones,,and with about 300,000 bands put in,that would put it at less than 3,000 geez by my estimation it seems that over 20 percent of the people on here claim,,to have serious complications ,,the study and the numbers just don' add up,,i no there may be some probs but let me be in that group of a batch of bad bands i'll be sitten on a beach collecting 20 percent

If you read her response - her first words are that she was banded in April 07- 13 months ago. No need for butt chewing just more careful reading.

I think that you should find a lawyer as quickly as possible. I would start with the yellow pages, and find an attorney that can help you with a case that is out of the country. The fact that he is in a different country presents a whole new slew of problems from a legal standpoint. (I had an acquaintance who had plastic surgery by a dr in Mexico that went horribly wrong) I really don't believe that this is something that the average consumer can handle on their own. They may have already started shredding documents for all you know.

I'm sure they have deleted all my pictures from their files and shredded my papers. I will try to persue this but I don't think I'll get anywhere since it is not something that was done in the US. My whole concern is for people out there. All I want is to make people aware of how I was treated post op, until then they were very nice, but once things went wrong they did not take responsibility and take care of me like they should have. They let it go to long, and I believe I went throught what I went through because of it. If they had maybe gone in and changed the band early enough it might have been OK. Or at least taken action somehow instead of ignoring the problem.

Has anyone out there gone through the same thing? With Dr. Gonzales or anyone else?

I haven't gone through anything like this, but there is a member on here who is familiar with Mexican surgeons, and I believe she has information on going after Mexican surgeons via the legal system. Her screen name is wasabubblebutt. You could send her a private message. I believe she had surgery recently, so she might not be on for a bit.

If your husband still has the band, Inamed can determine if the product was faulty. I imagine that if they discover that it was, they would compensate you to some degree..

First of all, the Mexican health system is not like the US. You take a risk by going over the boarder to have that done. I have joked with my husband about having things done over there and he says NO unless you want to do. His aunt died because of the poor service in a Mexican hospital. His dad is Mexican and is from TJ where the original poster of this thread had her surgery. My husband won't even take me to TJ because it isn't a place to go and definitely not a place to have surgery just to get it at a cheaper price.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
