Bruising with fill

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever gotten a bruise from a fill. I have a blue bruise about the size of a silver dollar (The old ones not the new little ones) I was surprised because I didn't have any bruising from the surgery or the first fill. Any thoughts?

Yes ma'am, my wife USUALLY gets a bruise. The doctor gives her a local and then the fill. Sometimes he has to "search" for her port and she gets a bruise. It'll be gone in now time, like all those pounds. :-)

I didn't have any the first time but I had a bruise about the size of a quarter the second time. Took him a bit of maneuvering to get the port that time, so it was probably due to that.

Thanks for the info. That makes me feel a lot better. I talked to the nurse at my doctor's office and she said it isn't uncommon to have a small bruise. She didn't think mine sounded too big.

Yes bruising is very normal. My doc even mentioned it each time I went in for my fill.

I had bad bruises after surgery, but none from the fills.

I had a fill on Monday morning, felt tender all day then noticed on Tuesday that I had a bruise. It is going away pretty quickly. I didn't have one from my first fill. I also had soreness when I laid on my left side until last night, then it was ok.

Add me to the bruised group. I've had one about half dollar sized from both fills and from my surgery. I'm not an easy bruiser either. I just figured it was from all the poking he did. You're in good company.

Yep..me too! First fill took a while for him to find the port..second fill one shot in and out and NO BRUISE!! I figure that first fill was how it would be every time but my port moved on me?? So the second was a total surprise!:woot:

I've had 3 fills now and bruised with each. It takes them a little bit to get to the port so I figure that's why. The bruise is about the size of a quarter. My PA told me that was normal.

Yep, I also had the half-dollar sized bruise. Mine took almost three weeks to go away, though! Weird. I didn't feel one ounce of pain with the fill, though. Thank God for small miracles!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
