Hello.

About 3 months ago I had my lapband put in by a Dr. in Michigan and he did one fill. Recently I've moved to south Florida and I'm in desperate need to find a fill doctor in Florida. I didn't think it would be hard but all of the FL doctors that I found thru realizeband.com did not take any followup patients. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A DOCTOR IN FLORIDA THAT COULD HELP ME?? I'm willing travel a few hours if needed. Let me know.

Are these doctors who will do fills for Mexico banded patients as well. I am particularly interested in St. Augustine...I am currently traveling to Altamonte Springs for fills (1 1/2 hours).

Those are all doctors that Mexican banded people have been to for fills and they added them to a data base.

I emailed the doctor in St. Augustine and they do NOT work with folks who have been banded out of the country.

I just have been "fired" as a patient, after questioning why after 1200, and 2 years later, I have had no weight loss, and after going to get a barium swallow. Dr. Abbas Shariat in Jacksonville, fl, is a scam artist!!!!!! He has actually put only 0.5 ml in my band!!!!! and I was wondering why I could eat a whole cow, LOL. He will charge 800 for initial visit, and 400 after that!!!!!!! And he will not use flouro, his office staff are rude, and liars!!!! I asked for my medical record and was told they don't do that!!!!!!! Please do not use this doctor, I am so upset, I am a nurse myself, and I knew that there was no restriction, i was literally starving myself, the depression over feeling , wow after all this money, time, and still no weight loss, I wasn't gaining, due to the fact I had learned to literally starve myself, and Dr Shariat kept telling me I wasn't doing it right, all I was eating was chicken, tuna, etc., and I was starving all the time!!!!! Well any hints on a respectable doctor, here in NE Fl, I am going to go back to Dr Kuri in Mexico, if I have too.

I have been going to Altamonte Springs, FL ( just outside Orlando) to Dr. Beltre - he is wonderful. I have also sent other folks there who also love him - we have all been banded in Mexico. I am going back to him on Tuesday - for my third fill. He is knoweldgeable, personable and easy to get in to see. It takes 1 1/2 hours to get there from St. Augustine. If you want any additional info about him, feel free to PM me and I will share whatever I know. I highly recommend him.

my doc is John Gonzolvo and he is in Largo FL. I am a mexico bandster. He is I think $200.00. Easy going and extemly down to earth nice guy. 727-586-3751

I am, but nature, conservative, suspicious, and wary. This is especially true when it comes to non-traditional medical providers. By non-traditional, I mean someone other than those providers I am used to working with. So, when I needed a lap band fill for my Mexican-installed band, I was in a fix.

I finally settled on Fill Centers USA and selected Kathie Gonzales at the Tampa Center.

While I’m not enamored of Fill Centers USA, and don’t really get why they exist since the providers could just advertise, I am head over heels crazy about Ms. Gonzales at Millennium Medical In St. Petersburg. She was worth every penny of the fee and every mile of my the three-hour drive. If you are looking for your first fill or an ongoing fill provider, ignore any concerns you might have about Fill Centers USA or even a strip-center medical provider and go see Ms. Gonzales.

Thanks for the info. I was banded in the Dominican Republic and am looking for someone to do my fills. Question for you- How long did you have to wait after surgery to get your first fill? Does he use a floro? Any idea on price? I REALLY appreciate any information!!
