51Lbs lost since Surgery March 7th

Recommended Posts

Whew! it's been forever since I have been on here. Missed all of the March bandsters..... I have been so busy....

How is everyone doing? I am so excited:lol: about the success of my band, it's so much better than I thought.

I had a fill April 26th on my Bday..., didn't hurt at all, but I will say that is very different than the surgery, that's a whole different ball game....

As of last week "saturday" I have lost 51lbs :thumbup:since my surgery 2 months ago, and I have gone from a 18/20 lane byrant to a (14) anywhere... .... Yippie!!! of course I didn't do it with the band alone, at first I started walking for an hour a day then I joined my local YMCA and have been working out at the gym 6 days week for 1.5 hours day, most importantly I have cut out white carbs.... thanks to some good advice... How's everyone else doing?

Gosh, that's FANTASTIC! Nice work!

I'm down 37 lbs since getting banded on March 6. I've not been eating vary carefully - I'm satisfied by my rate of weight loss. And for me, because it's going to be such a long process because of my high start weight, I'm happy to take it easy at first.

Wow! That's great too.. ! Congratulations.....

I have been working harder on this, cause I will be seeing my husband in 5 weeks, and he doesn't know of all the new changes I have made.... I am so excited.....

I am doing my own BODY MAKEOVER<! Just wish I could do the 10 years and younger show.... lol... It would be easier... I have been tanning everyday so I have gone from LILLY white to a medium tan, and I have a chemical peel appt, as well as Laser hair removal, and a Body wrap, and a custom hair appt., totally changing that, currently bleach blonde "going honey natural" and a teeth whitning.... ... This stuff is expensive, but I haven't seen my husband in 8 months... and since my life has always been about how BIG I was I figured I would treat my self.. Good luck......... and way to go on your loss......

Innertube, 51 lbs is great. He is going to be so shocked to see you not just with the loss but with the make-over. Great job!!!

I love that story!

I tend to avoid people I know who haven't seen me in a while - I hate the look of surprise and concern on people's faces when they see how much weight I've gained. I love the idea of remaking yourself - physically, at least - to surprise someone.

And it sounds like you've gone all the way for it!

Your husband is a lucky guy to have a partner who's so serious about this process!

Innertube, I am so proud of you for taking the time (and money) to do that for yourself (and hubby). I am learning, slowly, that we need to focus more of our energy on what makes us feel good! PLEASE post pics so we can see how things turnned out!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
