Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I just got banded on April 14 2008 and I am doing good so for..Heheh..I am getting to where I can start eatting scrabbled eggs, yogurt, cheese, etc...Well these few days was hard cause all I wanted was food..But I got threw it. Well anyway my question is, when You are passed your 2 to 4 weeks of soft food, what can you eat after everything is passed?? Like what is everyone eatting who has had it done awhile. Is it like meat loaf, ribs, chicken, veggies, etc....My Dr just told me to use common since and to Chew chew chew and take small bits..So He really didn't tell me nothing was forbidden. I can't wait to start eatting normal foods again...Hope someone can help or answer the question for me..Hope everyone is doing well and take care!!!

Hey there...welcome to banded life! I'm 4.5 weeks post op--I'm eating some fairly normal stuff--you just have to be really careful...i ate too fast today and wasn't chewing well (just completely forgot about the band--i was talking and visiting and all) and man--did it hurt!!! Anyway-thought I was going to throw it all up!!! I caught it quickly and just had to sit there a bit and then I was fine. Just take it easy--you don't want to go crazy--what would be the point of all of this then? Also, I know you have to be careful about the band slipping and stretching. There are some REALLY great threads on here....I didn't have time to search for them...but I think one of them was like "what's everyone eating" or something like that...and everyone kind of posted at what stages they were eating things...that was pretty helpful. Good luck to ya...BE CAREFUL and yes, CHEW AND SLOW DOWN and SMALL BITES!!!!

Hi there ive been banded just over a year and a half and am filled to 10cc in a 11 cc band. I can still eat pretty much what ever i want with the exception of bread and very dry meats. I just can eat only very small portions and have to eat very slowly.

I was banded on the 17th of April and I too am tired of eating Soup and Protein Shakes. I am not really hungry at all after eating one or two tablespoons of pudding or yogurt but I an so ready to eat something good like a real meal. My Dr has not allowed to eat eggs or anything else with any type of substance. I go back to see him on the 24th so I hope he will allow me to have something different instead of waiting another week of full liquids.< /p>

Hi There! I too was banded on 4/14 and am feeling great. The first few days I had no desire to ever eat again but now I am getting ready to see my doctor on Wednesday. I'll get to start eggs and pudding then. It's been only Opti for me and I am done with that. I prefer to not drink it and fill myself with crystallite. broth & Jello don't do it for me. My food plan is liquids for week one, puree and very soft egg-ish for week two, and then week three-eight more Protein. My doc very strict and I'm doing everything I can to stick with it. I met others from his practice who didn't and they didn't lose any weight ... I hope to conquer that.

Be patient and good luck!

Thanks everyone for helping me. I was just getting worried that I was never going to eat eral food again..LOL...Today I start my second stage like cheese, eggs, yogurt, etc..My Dr gave me the ok for 1 1/2 weeks, then when I see him on the 30th he will advance my diet again. So IT feels so good to have some food in my mouth..Have any one ever eat spegetti again?? I figured the bread no cause it can get stuck but I love spegetti, but If I have to I can live without it..I love the angle hair ones..Thanks again for all the help and hope to talk to yall soon!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
