I think we all go through this... I have no restriction right now and I had gotten down to 265 on sunday and then the next day I was back up to 267. In one day I gained 2 pounds.. it's so weird.. I feel like one of those graph machines... when I get down to 263 I'll jet back up to 265 and do that for a while too. It's most likely just that we need a fill. But, when I look at my chart, I'm steadily losing weight every week. Even if only a pound, I'm always at least losing a pound. Good luck. It will happen!

I'm going through the same thing. Started at 230, got down to 196 nice and steady, and since then I've been going between 196 and 194 for almost two weeks. It's making me nuts. I googled "diet plateau" but didn't learn anything new. Some people say to eat something high carb, like a baked potato, to jump start your metabolism again. The one thing almost everyone had to say is that you need to change your routine for a while. Eat something different, change your exercise, etc. I've done that for the last two days, and low and behold, finally made it to 193 today. We'll see if I keep going or if I'm stuck here now.

I've dieted all of my life (obviously not successfully long-term!) and tried all the tricks to break plateaus and the one that always works for me is having a couple of higher calorie days every week. It's against my nature to add calories since I've always equated weight loss with deprivation but it really does work, for me anyway.

I hit 309 last week and I had been bouncing upward since then until I increased my calories for a couple of days. Now I'm back down to 309. Go figure. Good luck!

I agree with Gibson. I track my daily intake at Calorie Counter - Free Online Diet Journal. This week I have made a conscious effort to get at least 1000 calories a day. When I go under that, I don't lose. When I'm around 1000, I seem to lose the best. Have you had a fill yet? Before my first fill, I plateau'ed and then even gained 8 lbs back. That was super frustrating. Once I got my fill, I started losing again. I can't wait for my next one because I know I'm losing restriction again.

I know this all too well. I was on a plateau for TWO freakin' years!! I would bounce from 175 up to 185 and back down again. It wasn't until I got my band that the weight started to drop again.

I do believe you have to change your routine to get results on the scale again. More vigorous exercise, keeping your calories above 850, but not more than 1300, etc. Sometimes though, your weight just needs to slow down to catch up with your size. I'm thinking I'm about due for a bit of a plateau again soon.

Hopefully I'm wrong!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
