What food gets stuck the most?

Recommended Posts

What food do you eat that seems to give you the most problems as far as getting stuck.....but you keep eating?

I have trouble with oatmeal of all things. I think I forget and take too big of a bite about half the time. How about you?

Only one fill so far here, and I haven't experienced anything getting stuck yet. I still can't really tell the band is there! Ah well, another fill is coming up in about 2 weeks . . . maybe then I'll pass into some of the rites of bandland

Ironically, the only thing that has ever gotten stuck on me is meat. The thing I'm supposed to be eating first at my meals! I've had sticking episodes with chicken, fish, and ground beef. Everything else I've ever tried (bread included) has gone down just fine.

Egg is going to be a BIG problem for me. I can already tell. Particulary, omelettes and scrambled. I don't have much restriction right now and both times I've tried to eat a scrambled egg or omelette it has hurt or felt weird going down. Also, dry BBQ chicken. It felt like a bowling ball going down. Any other meats and chicken cooked in a different way I haven't had problems with. Gibson, maybe you could try tuna. When I have really good restriction tuna goes down very nicely.

The only problem I've had is with Wheat Thins of all things. Finally, the 3rd time, I was like "why do I eat these??"

I know a lot of it has to do with the time of day I was trying to eat them (morning snack or lunch), because I'm super tight then. But geez, I'm not a fast learner, am I? lol

I can not eat bread not even one bite. Pork is also difficult for me. I have given up all fast foods, they all make me sick especially french fries yuck!

Rice and beef are very hard for me to get down. I have just decided that it just isn't worth it to even try eating those anymore.

Ant form of potatoe, even pot salad......seems like a mushy but for some reason it gets stuck. No problems with rice or pasta....weird.

Ooh, you just reminded me of something. I've gotten the stuck feeling three, (yeah Angie, I'm like you...sometimes it takes a long time for me to get the hint! lol), count 'em, three times before I vowed to never try a single french fry again as long as I live. I wasn't even going to eat more than one. I just wanted to try one. Yeah. Three times.

I've mostly had problems with crackers and french fries. I will have some issues with dry chicken every now and again, but french fries are the worst for me (which is awesome!)

Now, see, fries and chicken I have no problems with.

However, I suspect it's because of the time of the day that I'm eating this stuff. I could probably eat Wheat Thins at night. And I could probably not eat french fries in the morning.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
