I only got this Soup at the chinese places.. Never made it my-self!! I have had my band 5 weeks and have not had the PB as of yet, If you listen to your body it (so the Dr.'s who don't live with a band say) can be avoided??? Only having mine 5 weeks I guess I'm not a good one to speak of it.. Do you have a band???

I get the egg Drop Soup from the Chinese Places too. I did not have my first PB untill I was able to eat solid food and it was a Crossant that caused it. You might have heard that bread to some is a no no. Well it balled up and then alot of slime followed and up it came. But everyone is different

Some never PB I do not do it often but like Tarafeena says listen to your body..

Hi there, actually making it is pretty easy, and has less sodium than the Chinese restaurants. Take a can of low sodium chicken broth. You can season it to your taste, onions, garlice, etc. Then beat a couple eggs in a bowl and when the Soup is boiling, slowly pour the egg into the soup while you stir the soup. The egg will cook immediately and as you stir break up into pieces. And it's done and ready to enjoy. Make sure you stir the egg in slowly or else you will have a big omelete in the middle of the soup.

I avoided this post all day since I love egg drop. I usually buy the dry mix in the Soup isle, but now I gotta try this homemade version. Thanks!

I just wanted to post that in the chinese resturants they get the eggs to suspend in the broth by mixing a little cornstarch in some cool Water and adding it to the boiling broth. At least this is the recipe I follow and it turns out exactly like my neighborhood chinese resturant makes it.

mmmmmmmm, ever since this thread I have been cravingggggg egg drop soup!! Finally, last Friday I had some. YUMMY! But I couldn't use that HUGE spoon they gave me so I whipped out my handy dandy baby soft-tip spoon I keep in my purse! (I also keep a tiny lobster fork in there in case your wondering hee hee hee).

Love the Egg Drop Soup...

A few days after I was home from surgery I was able to have Egg Drop Soup, my husband would go down the street and get it from a Chinese Resturant. It was such a treat for me. As far as PB's well I have been a naughty girl, I am almost 3 week's post off and am in the mushy stage. I have pb 3 times and threw up twice and I know exactly what I did. I was rushing eating and another time I didn't chew, old stinky thinking. The pb's are not bad BUT the throwing up is not fun. I really have to pay attention and change my old ways, the band does slow you down...I LOVE MY BAND

Flower, pbs are just about always caused from eating too quickly and not paying attention or eating too big a bite and swallowing it. Your bites should be no bigger than the size of an eraser on the end of a pencil. Then chew, chew, chew before swallowing. It's probably going to happen at one time or another. It's not the end of the world, but it reminds you to slow down and pay attention. But it shouldn't be happening regularly. Too much pbing can lead to band slippage.

Another reason can be if you have too tight a fill. This is not good for you or your band. A very slight unfill will usually fix that particular problem immediately.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
