PS consult scheduled for 4/7/2008...

My plan covers removal of excess skin (it states it in the SPD) so I just spent 35 minutes on the phone with my insurance trying to get the "list" of criterian......... you would think it was a secret... but FINALLY I was put in touch with a Nurse reviewer in the PRECert department......

This is the list:

1. Medical Necessity must be proven

2. Pictures of Skin, Rashes, breakdown

3. If seen by a dermatologist for the rashes, then receipts from the visit.

She was nice about it and I ended up telling her about my band and my success.... my starting jean size and my current jean size...

She ended up giving me her first and last name and the exact mailing address WITH department number........

AND I've been having issues with even getting appointments with docs who will even TRY to submit it to the insurance....... dam dam dam

Tracy I'm so glad you were able to talk to your insurance co! Thats a BIG start. I also saw one of "those" doctors who didnt' even want to talk about insurance. You all read the post I made about him calling me - hmmpft! Then I go to this dr and he's all about the insurance paying for as much as possible. Go figure!

I go tomorrow for my 3rd visit with this ps. They told me they would schedule my surgery tomorrow so I'm praying for an early April date, but it sounds like it'll be late April.

Boo - are you able to take time off from school and work? I know you had the scheduling conflicts too. I dont' know why everyone can't just plan their life around us! Geesh!

Julie - it sounds like you are excited. Thats alot of money out of pocket - don't think dh would be such a dear about it. He's ok with me getting this done but he just says "you look good to me the way you are" and then the next breath "but I know you want it so if it'll make you happy then have it done"

I got my date May 1st at 8am. I'm a little stressed about the date but I'm going to deal with it. I'm the office manager - well I'm the ONLY office person at the club I work at so if I'm not there it doesnt' get done - April and May are still alittle slow but I do the billing on the 1st of the month - so I'll have to do them a day early - and my surgery is on Thursday which is good bc that gives me the weekend to recoup but then I have payroll that next week. I normally do it on Mondays but if I'm not feeling up to it I can push it to Wed. -

I talked with my dr about it - and they do have me as the standby if someone would cancel but she said thats highly unlikely - he said he thought a week off and then 1/2 days would be good - but it doesn't look like I'll get my whole week off. I've decided if I have to I'll go in the evenings in my jammies when no one is around.

Now on the positive side - the dr wants me to try to get to 150 before my surgery - thats just 10 lbs - I think I can do 10 lbs in a month. Maybe I'll do 20!!!!!!!!!

I went in for my preop today and he told me he would probably take about 7-10 lbs off of my abdomen. That is amazing. He is also going to remove probably close to 1 lb per thigh. I can't wait to be down a size! He prescribed me 4 drugs. One for anxiety presurgery, Valium ( I get upset before surgery). One for antibiotic, one for pain and one for nauseau. How is everyone else coming along?

Count me in!!! Just got my approval! My appointment for scheduling is the 18th, although always before when I get on the cancellation list, it moved up, so trying that again. She said she would look over his calendar, and pencil me in pending my appointment.

I am going to Texas mid May to meet up with the Shrinking Violets----so am working around that-------but I will find a way!

Just wanted to say Yay, Yay, Yay---------count me in!!!!

TMarie - welcome! When you say you've lost as much as your body will let you, are you saying you're at goal? Someone said that once we get the fat taken off the belly then the rest of the body will lose faster.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
