I got my 2nd fill last Thursday. The 1st fill felt tight (as in you had to eat really slowly and the amount I could eat was restrictive), however, it "loosened up" after 3 days and I could eat about like I could before the fill.

The 2nd fill felt exactly the same way in the doctor's office, but it definitely isn't loosening up any. I actually dread eating because of these problems:

1) food seems to literally stop at the base of my esphogus and it pressure hurts. I am chewing very carefully and the bites are toddler-sized.

2) Even drinking causes the same discomfort. I have to sip tiny bits of Water, feel the pressure until it finally subsides and take another sip.

The most calories I have been able to take in in one day since the 2nd fill is about 400. I'm back on the Protein though to counteract possible problems.

Is this normal? Is this just how it is until you lose the weight? Nobody ever mentioned pain when I signed up for this.

I'd love to hear from anyone experiencing these types of reactions.

sounds like you are a tad too tight.

if you are like me, my restriction changes with my monthly cycle. some days are pretty loose and some are REALLY restricted.

if you cant handle anything, i suggest a slight unfill

Definitely call your docs office and talk it over with them. Some people's stomach's are overly sensitive and will get irritated after a fill and be tighter for a couple of days but that should have settled down by now. Obviously we are not docs, but it does sound like you may need a slight unfill.

One more reason you should call sooner rather than later is if you are self pay many docs will perform a small unfill for free if done within a week of the fill.

I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow so I will ask him to remove some of the saline then. I want to be thin, but I don't like pain! Besides, it'll come off quickly enough at a couple of pounds a week. Thanks!

Yes, I am in agreement with everyone else. If you are close to your doctor, go in and get a tiny amount out. Some people don't want to make the trip if they have to drive a long ways to get to their doctor. They try to wait it out, by eating eraser sized bites, chewing until it's liquid, and drinking Protein drinks.

Sometimes that works, and the fill will loosen on it's own. If you don't have to pay for fills and unfills, and it's not inconvenient to get to your doctor, have a bit taken out.

did you drink Water at the fill appointment. I went for my first fill last week, and could not get water down. They did an unfill right there, and removed .5cc, and now 5 days later am fine. I have the same problem, if I eat too fast or drink too fast. I think you might need an unfill if you are following the rules. good luck and let us know how you are doing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
