So hungry on my pre op diet

Recommended Posts

Tanks all, Great ideas.

I couldn't stand it last night and "cheated" I had a cup of chicken broth. It was great.

My dated is 3/25. I've lost 18 pds on my pre- pre op diet and now my pre op diet.

I'm a Chaplain for Hospice and see many people facing an early end of life because of live style choices. I don't want that for me so, this at age 52 will help me change that for me.

I'm on day 9 of my pre-op diet, surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning. According to my 800 cal diet that I've been given to follow, I can have as much broth as I want...so don't feel so bad about cheating! You made a good choice! You could have cheated with something much worse!!

You know I've only been using Slim Fast Optima and Atkins. They didn't taste too bad at first, overly sweet and left an odd taste in my mouth. Now, 6 days later, I've started to crave them! I haven't tried any others because I love these. I've got the Slim Fast Optima French vanilla and Milk chocolate and the Atkins Caramel Latte which tastes like a frappachino.

HELLO JENA,

I'M ALSO ON MY PRE-OP DIET AND TRIED THE SLIM FAST OPTIMA.... I DON'T CARE FOR IT EITHER! :confused2:

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE FUNNY AFTER-TASTE. I WON'T EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING WITH SPLENDA, EQUAL OR SWEET N LOW. I CHECKED THE INGREDIENTS IN SLIM FAST OPTIMA AND IT HAS ARTIFITIAL SWEETNER IN IT. I THINK THAT'S THE FUNNY AFTER-TASTE. I SWITCHED BACK TO THE REGULAR SLIM FAST.... AS FAR AS I CAN TELL, IT DOESN'T HAVE SPLENDA IN IT.

GOOD LUCK WITH THE REST OF YOUR PRE-OP DIET AND YOUR UP COMMING SURGERY!!

DARLENE

I hope things are going better today... Now i don't have a date scheduled yet but i have been drinking the Bally chocolate protien shake and i put lots of ice and mix it with Water and use my my magic bullet and wait about 5 minutes and then drink it with a straw and it is actually good... prehaps if you add some ice and mix it in a blender or something and make it super cold it wont taste too bad... just a thought..

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
