  1. Okay, it's the end of week three at the new gym and I still feel like I'm not fitting in...rather sticking out like a sore thumb. I'm trying not to pay attention to everyone around me, but I still feel intimidated....I'm frustrated!! :tongue2:
  2. I believe my band cost $4500.00, not a small amount by any means, but half of what your hospital is quoting. Good Luck to you...
  3. Thank you for sharing your journey, I'm 9 days post-op and feel like I really got an honest picture of what is ahead of me. I laughed and cried as I read your words. Congratulations on your hard work and perseverance - it has to feel wonderful!
  4. It's been one week today for me as well. I returned to work, not quite sure that I was ready to be here. It's been a long day and it's only 1:15!! Friday was the worst for me as far as hunger goes, my stomach was definitely protesting the clear liquids! All I wanted was a rice crispie treat and I haven't had one of those in years!! I blame the tv and all their food commercials! After starting full liquids on Saturday, I have been feeling fuller and not so hungry! I wasn't really given any lifting restrictions and I don't know if that's because I didn't catch it on my way out the door of the hospital or what?! I know that when I tried to lift something on the somewhat on the heavy side, I could feel it pull - that was my clue to get some help! All in all, I think I'm progressing well...glad you all are too!
  5. M... I was banded on 3/17/08 in Beloit, WI by Dr. Karin Blumofe! Best of Luck to you!!
  6. Just wanted to let you all know that I made it home today, it was a little rough last night, but I'm happy to report that I'm on my way to recovery! A little tender in the abdomen, but otherwise feeling good. I'll check back a little later, gonna go sip some water! Hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there!!!!
  7. I'm on day 9 of my pre-op diet, surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning. According to my 800 cal diet that I've been given to follow, I can have as much broth as I want...so don't feel so bad about cheating! You made a good choice! You could have cheated with something much worse!!
  8. Jessyca - you definitely have your work cut out for you! Good Luck!
  9. It sounds like we're all down for the count. I'm being banded on Monday in Beloit, Wisconsin. I know there are two others that day from here so I'm not alone =) I'm not looking forward to the weekend, it's harder to stay focused on the liquid diet when I'm at home. While I'm at work, it's a breeze! Good luck to all of you!!!
  10. I don't have to have a shot, gages - that doesn't sound like much fun. Still drudging through this liquid diet, it's getting old but at the same time getting easier. It has made a huge difference having people going through it at the same time - do you agree? Anyone else's office being overrun with girlscout Cookies?!
  11. I am being banded on the 17th also! It's always been my favorite holiday, now it also means the beginning of a new life!
