Hey! Welcome 2 LBT! I am also pretty new to the site, I live in L'ville. I am going through Peachtree Bariatrics, Dr. Titus Duncan . I have already been t the seminar, turned in my paperwork, gotten all Medical and Psych clearances. I love his staff! they are very reassuring and caring! they return all calls, and even answered the questions I thought were stupid! Dr. Duncan is very experienced and was the president of the Bariatic assoc. in Ga. He also specializes in Laproscopic surgery! His complication.rate is less than .02%. He's awesome! He also does the med rev on Good Morning Atlanta on Thursday mornings. Check out the web site at peachtreebariatric.com . I know I am going on and on, but check it out!

Again welcome, and please let us know how your search and process is going!

Dr. Titus Duncan is a lead surgeon in this field; based in ATL. Teaches other docs around the world. Also, I live in Roswell. We might be neighbors :-) I'm contemplating the LapBand. Have full confidence in Duncan; I'm just worried about the psychological aftermath. I LIKE eating. I LIKE drinking LOTS Of Water. But psychologically, I'm now terribly depressed due to recent 40 pound weight gain, and I already needed to lose 40. I'm now 240 pounds. female.single. Not good.

Schewy, hope I spelled it right! I have a horrible memory! I hope the info I was able to give was helpful! Dr. Duncan is great!

Curiousone, I'm sorry u are having a hard time! just remember life is full of many ups and downs. but the fact that u are even considering WLS, shows that u are conscious of what u need to do. Be proud of that! It took me 2 yrs to decide this is what I need to do. So take your time, be encouraged, and pray about the situation , work towards your goal and everything will work out! Not to preach to you, but when depressed remember Psalms 55:22, it says. Throw your burdens upon Jehovah and he himself will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous to totter!

We all get down when our weight goes up and down just remember, you are not alone! We can do something about it! This tool the LB, can work for you! You are in my prayers.

Agape'

D.

hey there,

i did live in north georgia, cartersville to be exact. i was seeing dr ryland scott at harbin clinic and he was very nice and so was his staff. i had to have a phscy eval., a letter from my pcp and a history of my weight loss efforts, plus i went to nutrition class which was great and helped me greatly, then you had to join a gym before you had surgery.

however, i moved to chatta., tenn and decided since i was living in chatta now to go with dr jamie Ponce and he and his staff are just great. i had the surgery 2-28-08 and have lost 15 pounds so far.

good luck with your surgery, whomever you decide to go with.

Hello my bro. I am trying to also get more info about the procedure and was put on the waiting list of one year just to come to the sem. there in Atl. at Emory. For years I've prayed to Jah for the help and the guidance to help me with my weight and for a year I lost about 30lbs. and gained all of it back due to a family crisis. Too, many years I allowed people to tell me ''you're large but proportioned''> That has gotten out of hand and now I can't get out in the field as I used too. yes, I go but my health is really keeping me a little down. As you know Jehovah does keep me going and the friends are there too. So nowe tha I read your thread we can encourage ea,other.

it has been awhile since your surgery can you tell me a little about the cost, your personal results, and would your recommend it?

I did it in Mexico with Dr. Zappata. It was wonderful. It cost $7000 not counting the flight. I have lost 51lbs. so far. It is a constantly learning experience. What works one day does not work the next day. I do recommend it.I am not sorry I did it for a minute. It is a journey and I still have a ways to go.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
