Scared. Is my lapband slipping or am I getting a hernia?

Hi..

I am getting so worried.

First of all, I was feeling a pain right under my large inscission. A ripping/tearing pain on my left side. It hurt when I slept on my side and when I moved in a certain way..

people here told me it was normal and I was releived.

BUT NOW..

I am having the same kind of pain but about 8 inches lower than it was before and no where near an inscision and actually seems to be in just fat. (my lower stomach thats all flab)

And it hurts when ever I shift my self, like to stand or sit up.

Is this normal too..

To have that pain that low as well now?

The pain I was having before is gone. (the pain in my large inscision area)

Thanks for any advice.

I spent all day yesterday in the ER! I am having the same type of pain.

Every time I cough or sneeze I feel a pinch and burning pain near my

incisions. I cannot get comfortable in bed either, no matter how I lay I feel this pain.

I never had any problems with my surgery, I am 10 months out so I was really worried. I had many test; CT Scan, X-Ray, Blood work etc.. and thank god everything came back normal. They think it may be a pulled muscle. I recently had a fill for the first time and was not used to such restriction, as a result I PB'd a few times. This is probably the cause of my discomfort.

The good news is that I lost over 17 pounds in less than a month so I cannot complain. Good luck to you and I hope we both feel better soon.

Nykee: PLEASE please go call your doctor. The fever suggests that you have some sort of infection brewing. The redness also suggests it is brewing in your abdominal cavity. I had the same thing the same redness. This is not something to mess with. Call whoever you need to be seen immediately. You might need the port removed. Might even need an endoscopy to look at the band to make sure nothing is going on there.

I went to the ER and I called Dr. Ortiz and spoke with him and Dr. Martinez and I also been talking to my doctor's nurse for a couple days and no one is really doing anything about it.

so.. I guess I will find out when I go to get my fill.

OR on monday I will keep on trying to get through to people.

Thanks for the concern. My fevor is gone now, but the reddness remains.
