Protein Pudding Recipes

Recommended Posts

I've heard there is a pretty good store bought one called Stallone I think, but I make my own. I have several different recipes.

My favorite is to make sugar free pudding by replacing the 2 cups milk it calls for with 1-1/2 cups blended cottage cheese with 1/2 cup skim milk (or Water to reduce calories) I know it sounds weird but it really tastes good. It reminds me of pudding made with whole milk.

The one I’ve been using lately is:

1.4oz sugar free chocolate pudding mix

2 cans of Low Carb Slimfast and

1-1/2 scoops of Protein powder.

The entire batch has 680 calories, 76 Protein, & 36 carbs. I divided it up into 4 servings which breaks it down to (170/19/9). Plus the added Vitamins & minerals that Slim Fast adds to the mix.

It tastes pretty good as is but I usually like to put it in the freezer for about 1/2 hour until it starts to freeze then stir until it is about the consistency of a Wendy's Frosty. I also like to stir in 1/2 tablespoon of P.B. just before I eat it. That bumps the breakdown up to (217/21/10) but is worth it to me.

Like I mentioned before my favorite is to replace the Slimfast with 2 cups cottage cheese & 1/2 cup skim milk that has been run through the blender until completely smooth before mixing with the pudding mix. The cottage cheese has a better protein to carb ratio than the Protein Powder and is an all natural substitute for those that don't want to use Slim Fast or Protein powders. The end results taste really good, it reminds me of my mothers puddings made with whole milk. It does NOT taste like cottage cheese in any way. The best thing about the cottage cheese blend is that it works great with all kinds of different flavors. I've used it to make the sugar free cheesecake mix as well as a sugar free lemon pudding. The cottage cheese also makes a thicker pudding which helps fill me up. You can change it up all kinds of ways. I've mixed in frozen bananas, frozen strawberries. A dash of Lime juice in the cheesecake flavor to make it more like key lime pie. A couple friends of mine also like to add instant coffee to the chocolate pudding (YUCK!)

The nutritional data on 1/2 cup 1% Cottage Cheese is 14 protein to 3 carb and 81 calories. Approx 4.5 to 1 Ratio for Protein to Carbs

-Vs.- The whey powder I have right now which is 21 protein to 4 carb but 120 calories. Approx 5 to 1 Ratio but more calories.

Thank you Ghost!

My husband (also banded) has a late night sweet thing going on, and I just don't keep "temptation" in the house period & I need to come up with something in a "healthy" way. Love the cottage cheese idea, I can totally do that, maybe add some fresh berries~

I'm so glad I lost my sweet tooth , DH however gets pissy I don't have a litt'le something - something for him...Again thanks!:w00t:

Protein pudding is a wonderful supplement that many bodybuilders have found to be a great way to knock back 25 grams of protein while enjoying a delicious snack. However the cost often makes enjoying it on a daily basis prohibitive. Here is a recipe or homemade protein pudding, which will allow you to enjoy the same, benefits of delicious protein, with complete control over protein content and flavor.

You'll need:

  • 1 Box (3.9 Ounce) Jell-O Instant Pudding
  • 2 Scoops whey Protein (Any Brand Works)
  • 1-Cup Skim Milk
  • 1-Cup Cold Water

Directions:

  • First, mix milk and Water into bowl
  • Then, beat Pudding mix into water/milk mixture with wire wisk for two minutes
  • Next, mix in whey protein until the consistency is of your liking. Typically, 2 scoops of whey will blend in nicely. You can use more or less protein to obtain the flavor you desire.
  • Finally, pour mixture into serving dishes and give it 5 minutes in the refrigerator to cool.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
