So far going on 3 weeks post op... been feeling pretty sick, but the pain is dulling. I went back to the gym way too early (a simple 30 min walk kicked my bum)... :thumbup:

I had to make another appt a week before my fill date due to some discomfort I've been having. The doctor tested me to see if I needed a fill and would have probably given me one if I had needed it, but he said I still have good restriction! He said that he has some patients who have never had a fill and do fine with just the band in place. I have been on ibuprofen for a few days now trying to get the inflammation from my hiatal hernia down and I'm wondering if it does go down how that will affect my restriction. Guess I will find out eventually. Right now however, I really don't feel like I need a fill. I can eat a good amount of food, but not nearly what I used to eat. Still only getting about 700-800 calories a day and trying to figure out how to boost that number up without increasing my quantity or my daily carbs. It's such a balancing act!

OK, for those first few that had their fill, HOW DID IT GO?

Seems like quite a variety so far. I posted my experience in another thread here on Feb08 - and I think shinyhappy...did too. Mine was SO EASY! I'm still on liquids so I don't know how much restriction I'll have, but the actual process was a breeze. I've noticed that a few others had a rough time though - I think it depends on how experienced your doctor is (whether he hits the port the first time or has to jab around) and whether they numb you first, and whether they make you do barium during the adjustment.
