Linda can you call me about 7 am so we can confirm the weather situation? I am concerned that it will be too wet (if one can believe the weather).

We usually walk in Buffalo because the group is distributed all over the city. If it is just Linda and I we could go anywhere. Como park is a little far for Linda but we could walk closer than Delaware Park most likely.

NBuffalo Girl, we expect to be walking through into December. It warms up as we walk. We are hoping to walk until it snows.

Big GurlX, was not sure if you were joking about all the good food if you are having surgery potentially in December or January you need to be on South Beach or something so you lose 5% of your body weight before the surgery. Just want to make sure they told you that.

yeah I was pretty much serious about the "food coma"... but i've lost enough for the surgery (16 lbs) from my first weigh-in at bgh. Dr. Hoffman seemed to be pleased with it..he says as long as I don't gain it back...(which I do'nt plan on doing) I should be fine for surgery. I would be lying to myself if I said I was'nt going to splurge a *little* during Thanksgiving, i'll be back on plan after that.

Lisa did give me a *tentative* surgery date of Dec 8th (my brother's b-day)..Dr H has to sign a few forms before she can send off to the insurance...hopefully I won't have a problem with bc/bs but we'll see

Yeah I know what you mean... I can only lose so much before hitting a road block and yo-yoing again...so I know this is the best option for me too. You'll do well Shar and by spring you'll be modeling off your new bod!

Beyond a doubt I am not sorry I did this, slow loss or not, it was a good move. I think the most important advice I can give the two of you is that you still have to work at it, but it really does give the added boost!!

Val, of course it is raining this am so I do not think we will be walking Saturday, and actually I am sick with a sore throat, but if the weather is good I would consider walking Sunday. I am not so concerned about the cold as the rain. Talk to you later or call me sunday morning if you think you will go.

Does anybody know if it is normal to still have pain two weeks later? At times it is enough to make me stop, sit down and put ice on it. I am only taking Tylenol cause I want to drive. I am not exercising. It hurts To yawn, take a deep breatrh etc. Now it just hurts period. It is my left side and my back.

Big Gurl, do not kid yourself. Maintaining is very hard!!!! I had to do it and it was tough.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
