Band removed two weeks now(feel great)

got my lapband removed, been suffering for about 3 or 4 yrs. but, at the end

i couldn't hold food or drinks down, on the last four days , not , knowing what was wrong, or what? was happening to me, all the Water ,liquids were coming out of my body, as fast as i drank to try to replace them. at least three buckets of water . but no food. i am not against the band, i've learned alot about myself and all my hangups. but, it was a hard way of learning. to do it yourself. and leave all my fears and problems , and throw them to the wind . to those that still have the band. be good to yourselfs and get support and help , and chew slow and very small bits.

My lapband got loose and choked my stomach , i saw a picture and it looked like a hughmunges basketball. ready to explode.

GOD BLESS, margie

I had my band removed and was converted to a bypass 2/12/08 after having my band for almost 6 years. I suffered with my band for 3 of the 6 years and gained back almost half of the weight I lost the last year of having my band. After about 2 1/2 years I started having pain and esophageal spasms. Then there were the fills and unfills and more fills and unfills. I never could get good restriction.

When I had my conversion surgery it was discovered that my band had been placed on my esophagus and there was no stomach tissue above my band at all!

I haven't had anymore pain since my band was removed and I'm losing weight again! I just want to be healthy and I'm just glad the worst is behind me!

I feel for all of you that are now having problems. The best advice I can give you is to seek support and find a doctor that is willing to help and is knowledgeable. If you're not happy with one surgeon, find another.

Good luck to everyone.

Hey margie. If you dont mind me asking, how long after your band was removed were you able to eat again? what was your diet like after removal? Im curious bc i just had mine removed 1wk ago due to similar problems.

You may be like me (I have all the same symptoms you have and have since I got the band 06/06) and your body is rejecting the band. I'm trying to decide if I should remove it now. Could the reason you are not losing is because of the calories you eat when you can keep food down? I know I eat a lot of sugar and creamy buttery Soups and that keeps me from losing anymore.....

Good luck to you. Go see your doctor and have all the test so you can make sure everthing is ok.....

Just had my bad removed on Friday May 16th and the doctor put me on liquids for two weeks. I feel so good no more acid reflex. Just want to see how your doing and if your still on liquids?

Had my band out yesterday and was given no dietary restrictions - just eat in small amounts and see how I feel. I also had my gall bladder removed - I'm a bit sore from that. I'm so relieved this is over and done, chapter closed and moving forward.

Still on liquids it is almost a week I feel so so much better. Need to start exercising and to be careful that I don't gain the weight back. Sondra keep intouch my e-mail is gdill1@msn.com ...

I just had my band removed on Saturday and would like to know if you gained alot of your weight back? I'm deathly afraid of gaining all of the weight back especially since it's only been 3 days and I've put on 9 pounds. I know it's water weight and alot of swelling at the incision site but what can I expect? Thanks so much.

After I had my band removed I gained 6 pounds in three days it was gone water weight I stayed on a liquid diet for 6 days. I am now eating and it is great not to get sick or have acid reflex. So glad that I had my band removed. Need to be careful that I don't gain the weight back.
