  2. Mine was done open. I spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital. It was a difficult recovery. I thought I was having lap, until I awaken. I had it placed on March 8, 2008 and removed on June 10, 2008.
  3. No, I have not been able to. You and I are a lot a like. I could not stay focus with the band and am not staying focus without it. Best Wishes.
  4. I had my band removed because my port was infected even with antibotics it would not heal. I chose not to get another surgery. I never had a chance to get a fill. I got the band on March 8, 2008 and lost it on June 10, 2008.
  5. Carol, I understand. I lost my band three months after I got it. I was selfpay also. All I have to show for it is a large credit card bill and a scarred stomach. It does get better. 13. pb punisher I woke up to an open lapband removal because of scar tissue. It was a big disappointment. I thought I would be up and around in a couple of days but, it has been five weeks and still recovering. I am off work for the summer so that helps. Hope your recovery goes well.
  14. Sondra, I had my lapband removed on 6-10-08. I too am happy it is gone. I have nothing against the lapband, it just didn't work for me. I only had it three months before I had to have it remove. Best Wishes to everyone.

  16. I had my band placed and removed in Mexico by Dr. Pompa. Both were good experiences. All the staff was nice. I would not hesistate to go back when I have my revision surgery.
  17. After my lapband removal surgery, I have experienced a sharp burning pain on the outside of my left thigh. It is very painful. I was lying on my back in bed and the pain started. I take 2 tylenol for artiritis every 8 hours. They do provide some relief but. pain comes back. Has anyone else experienced this type of pain?
  18. Paula, I had my band removed on 6-10-08. I had open removal because of scar tissue. Healing process has been slow but, uneventful. I am thankful for that. I too feel better up and moving around.
  19. Hello Starrgirrl. I had to have my band removed open on 6-10-08, after only having it for three months. I too was filled with much grief but, I am moving on. I had lots of scar tissue so no rebanding for me. I like you don't want people to grieve for my journey. God Bless because we can do all things thru Christ who strengthens us.
  20. Praying for Joan and her family. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
  21. It has been 18 days since band removal. The removal was more difficult than the placement because of scar tissue, I had to have an open surgery. No fun. Also have developed a seroma. Still eating as if I had the band. I get full much quicker. Best Wishes to Everyone.
  22. Luscious, I was not telling her what her problem is. I went to the doctor that's how I found out about my own problem. I would expect her to do the same thing. She asked did anyone have the same symptons and I do.
  23. I can try again after I heal or do a sleeve.
  24. I have that problem. Same as yours. Having band removed on 6-10-08. Dr. says body is rejecting port. I had band placed on 3-08-08. Still draining today, 6-08-08.
  25. I have a date. It is coming out on 6-10-08. I am sad but, won't be rebanded. May be down the road I might try the sleeve.
