Hello to all upstate central NY here I was banded in Cooperstown in November of 2007. Unfortunately the band has not been successful for me. I have not given up totally, I have just excepted that it doesn't work for me. I would like to talk to others that have had problems and would love any suggestions possible. I would truly like to lose weight. I have been to the Dr religiously every six weeks since I was banded. I am having some kind of scope done next week to make sure everything is OK in there. I have 7.25 cc in a 10 cc band, and still can pretty much eat what ever I want to. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

I am 50 miles north of Albany and in the pre approval stage. My pcp appointment is Wednesday, wish me luck! I'm looking into Ellis Hospital for a surgeon. Dr. Imgram

I am sorry the lap band did not work out for you. I am originally from Syracuse,New York and we now live in Kingman, Arizona.

I had surgery on 12/20/08 and am down 54 pounds. I seem to be stuck here for a couple of weeks but this happened a month ago and then started to go down again after a few weeks.

I don't know what else to say but I too could eat more if i forced it, but I get to a point of getting the hiccups when full and have to stop eating.

I have not had one single fill but seem to have very good restriction for some reason.

I was born and raised in utica, NY and lived for 30 yrs in Syracuse NY before my husband and i moving to Arizona. When I left 5 yrs ago, they only surgery around Syracuse was for bariatric surgery and I was told at that time that I would have to go to NYC to have the band, so I did not do it at that time. I got my band in Las Vegas, Dr. Atkinson and love it, now I am almost to goal 80 pd and 10 more to go.

i was banded by dr. neale in july of 08 lost 70 pounds and 80 inches. he is fantastic listens to everything i say and is interested in all parts of my life not just my band.

when were you banded and how much lost???
