I actually haven't had the surgery yet - I'm looking for some help - actually some advice on cost and what to expect. Insurance wont cover it for me. I'm 70Lbs overweight, 5'7" and otherwise in pretty good health. I just sold my home so I have some money.

I've heard you can have this done in Canada cheaper - and in Mexico too but that worries me a little. What was your experience?

Hey x ray!!! We will problably meet someday! question: I haven't got for my adjsutmet yet. that is 3 weeks away. I just started the soft food after two weeks after surgery liquid diet.... However, I have not felt a thing. other than a little light headed the first week. As far as my stomach...nothing....just normal. Is that your case? Am I worrying too much?

Hey MV,

Yeah you are worrying too much. Don't worry about it though I did the exact same thing. I really didn't feel any restriction until after like my 2 or 3rd fill. So just be patient. It will come in time and as for being light headed you may need to eat some more. I got light headed some and passed out once cause I was not consuming enough calories. So good luck.

Hi,

I am just a little north of Charlotte in Salisbury. I had my surgery by Dr Roc Bauman at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord. He is wonderful and has a great reputation. I started out at 256 and am as of today 232. I am loving the weight loss and am having no problems. I feel like I could eat just about anything though and i am HUNGRY most of the time. The Dr wants me eating 2-3 oz every 3 hours and drinking 60 oz of liquid a day. Is it normal for me to be hungry already? I am due for my first adjustment on 10-13 and i am hoping that helps with the hunger

HaJones,

Yeah it is totally normal to feel so hungry. I recently had my 3rd adjustment and until then after a couple weeks after the other 2 adjustments I felt like I could eat the world. Now I am doing pretty good. I think I might have it filled just right. So just be patient and it will come. Congrats on your wt loss and good luck with the rest of your journey. It is so exciting and scary at the same time.

Wooohooo!

I am felling great! and doing great!

Went to see Georgia beat USC this past Saturday and tail gating was hard but I survived!!!!

Saw 279 this am....first time in 15 years to see myself below 280!!!! I am also wearing a size 42 for the first time.....A little tight around the waist but it will be used as a good measurment for the future.

That was a great game!! How did you survive tailgating. I am a Seminole and we travel to the games. I have not had my surgery yet and am just curious about our future tailgating gatherings.

First of all, Nobody knows I have had the surgery and got lots of compliments for my already noticeable weight loss which I reply thanks to my diet

Because of my "diet", I was staying away from beer. For drinks I had a tall glass with Water and a lime to look as if I was having a cocktail instead. The table was full of goodies we all crave at tailgating. chicken wings, brownies, chips, etc etc..... My wife had made a huge fruit salad bowl specially for me with soft fruits....I chewed them rall good before swallowing and no problems....I did not eat much either as I got pretty full fast! the fruit salad dissapeared pretty fast also!

FYI...before I got to the stadium, I had a whole Creay chocolate Slim Fast shake. I needed to feel full before looking at any food

That was pretty much it. I passed the first finger food test and I am glad is over!!! Those brownies were winking  at me all day!!!!!! that my friend was hard!!!!!!

Ohh....watching people geting drunk prior to the game was another first in a long time

That sounds like a plan!!! My husband and I are taking our motor home to Charlotte on Oct 11 for the race and everyone is planning the menu. I will not have the procedure done by then but hope to be on some kind of plan with the surgeon starting a weight loss. Sounds like you are doing great after surgery, especially when you only had this done 8/28!!!! I am excited and so ready to get onto a program!! Thanks for all your responses. Every little bit helps!!!

How thrilled I would have been to get so much on my first fill! I was banded on August 28th, and got my first fill almost two weeks ago. It didn't do squat diddly for me. I'm trying to hold on for the next one!
