Hello everyone:

I am Jeni from Pennsylvania and I am having the lap band done on Thursday, January 17th. I am nervous, scared and excited. I am currently on a 10 day liquid diet which has been very tough but I am doing it. I am looking for a lap band buddy to share stories and keep each other motivated. I would like to lose at least 90 lbs but I know it will take time and patience. If anyone is also starting out like me, I'd love to talk with you. Thank you everyone for all your great advice and I know I'll be posting much more after my surgery. Thanks and best wishes to all of you.

Hi Jeni I am Staci from MT. Congratulations on your upcoming banding. I am scheduled for Feb. 12. I have about 101 pounds to lose. I am worried about the liquid 10-days, but I just learned from you it is tolerable. Thanks! Good luck on everthing, message me if you need and I will do the same. I don't think I could have come this far without the support of others.

I totally agree with the addictiveness. I don't go on myspace as much as I do lapband talk!!

Hi, I'm Suzanne from VA. I was banded on the 4th. Please consider me a buddy as well. I have to confess I rarely go more than a few hours without checking in here. At least on weekdays that is.

Thanks to all who have replied so far about being my lap band buddy. I say the more the merrier. We can all cheer each other on. I have a question. I was going to reply to each of you personally but when I hit the quick reply it wouldn't go thru for me? I must be doing something wrong. I'm not so great with the computer. Anyway, thanks to all and I will be posting again soon or after my surgery.

We will be taking this journey together, I'm getting banded on January 17th also. I live in Covington, Louisiana; I've got relatives in your area. I've been living with a lot of back pain (hoping the weight loss will help), and its been REALLY bad the last two weeks. I got steriod injections today, hopefully by tomorrow I'll be 100% again,and ready to get excited about the surgery. I've been doing a modified liquid diet for two weeks. Lost about 6 lbs. It will be clear liquids on Wednesday, so tomorrow (Tuesday) I'm getting whatever I want for lunch! I'm at 226, hoping to get to 130. It's amazing, I really have hope - I haven't had that about my weight in many, many years. As I doze off at 7:30 Thursday, I'll be praying for both of us. All the best. RuthE

I will be banded on Feb. 11 in New Haven, CT. I will be happy to join you in our journey! I have an endoscopy and pre-op testing on Friday, Jan. 18 and have to go on a 2 week 1000 calorie diet prior to surgery. Good luck on Thursday!
