FYI: Prevention.com: Diet, Health, Weight Loss, Anti-Aging, and More! (the people who publish Prevention magazine that you see in your doctors office all the time) has some amazing tools to track you food intake, exercise, weight loss, inches lost, BMI, and even your mood so you can see how that effects your eating habits. Best of all, IT'S FREE!

I use it to track my food and exercise mainly but I try to keep the other info pretty current as well. It also lets you print your reports to take to your doc or nutritionist so you can show them exactly what you are eating, drinking, and how much you are working out so they can make better decisions about doing fills or spotting problems.

I don't mean for this to sound like a sales pitch (like I said, its free) I just think it is a wonderful resource that everyone should have an opportunity to try if they want.

OK, I have an obsession with the scale, I have for the last two years, since being banded. I would weigh in the morning and before bed, yes I know crazy.

Well now my partner has removed the scale. I don't know where she put it, I am going to try not to ask for it for a least a month, then I will ask to see it.

I have reached my goal and have gone under my goal, I just want to keep on track. I can see this thing going either way, I really cut back on what I eat and still continue to lose, and I know that she does not want me losing anymore, or I will eat more then I should and go above my goal weight. Right now I am probably over because I few drinks last night, always take me a few days to get those off. lol

Friends -

As tempted as I am to weigh myself daily - I stick to Sunday mornings only with a small reward in mind for staying off the scale and (of course) any weight loss. Manicure, movie, someting like that.

I like weighing every day because I'm learning that how I *feel* I'm doing doesn't always correlate to how I'm doing. I'm learning that I can fluctuate ~3 lb from day to day so I'm tracking trends instead. More data makes the trends more obvious and I don't stress as much over a couple pounds difference like I did when I weighed weekly.

But as others have said - I only update my ticker when there's a new lowpoint - I consider all higher points temporary ;-)

I record my weight once a week on Wednesdays. Also, on days I go to the gym, I weigh in the a.m. so I know what weight to enter for my workout on the elliptical.

I only weigh in at the doctor. For me this is for a lifestyle change than a weightloss tool, so i try not to weigh in too often. Of course most people think its weird but thats ok, i just dont want to be obsessed with a scale..like i havent weighed myself as of now, in Feb, since Dec :) of course, in doing this, I miss my goal weights, my 1st goal weight was 175, and i didnt get on a scale till i had already passed it, it was way better than agonizing about being 177, it was a nice surprise.

I just bought a really cool scale yesterday that measures body fat and Water intake... I've already weighed myself three times. Once at night with clothes... was 299... took all clothes off.. was 294.... then in the morning after going potty was 292! wow! I've lost 7 pounds in one day.. HA HA. I bet when I get banded I'll be doing it at least every two days.

Hehehe - I have a similar approach when home. When I hit that plateau/regain phase in the post-op, I REFUSED to update my ticker until I could show that it had moved down again. It took from 14 Dec to 3 Jan before I could update it, but I wasn't going to update it UPwards!

HAHAHAHA... I'M THE SAME WAY...

My body seems to "try on" a new weight and then waits awhile before it buys it. Maybe it's on a layaway plan.

In that case my body wants to be 207 but misses being 209....

Actually, Its driving me up a wall crazy!!! I keep telling myself im gonna go back to weighing myself once a week, but am to dang addicted to that scale!!! :)

I weigh myself once every couple of days. When I weigh myself every day, it gets confusing. I could eat 2 letuce leafs all day and gain weight. Then I could pig out and lose weight.

I think it takes a couple of days for your body to process weight loss. So don't be discouraged if you have been dieting your butt off and the scale isn't moving. It will.

Just keep doing what you need to do to limit calories and watch what you are eating. I have been trying to stick to 1200 calories a day. When I stick to that I lose weight.

I cheat a lot and those days I don't lose weight. But the cool thing about the band is it makes it a lot harder to binge eat so if you get sidetracked, you can just get back on track with your weight loss.

I'm debating on whether I should weigh once a week or once in the morning. The once a day thing is getting very depressing because I don't see anything happening. What do you all do?

Please tell me I am not the only one to do this.......:smile2:

Every other day, often on TWO DIFFERENT scales, five minutes apart, first thing in the morning, stark naked, after using the toilet, and wearing only my plastic (light weight) glasses, with the door closed and locked. :blushing:

So, as a dieter for the last 45 years, I seem to have accumulated a number of scales. I have thrown out more than I wish to admit. Presently, I have two. The one in my closet gives me the lightest number. The one in the BR at the other end of the house is a professional scale that was my mother's. She had myeloma and kidney failure, and needed an accurate scale to help her manage her fluids.

IF the one in my closet shows a drop in poundage, I will reweigh on the accurate one (which is still two or three pounds lighter than the one in the Dr's office) and will record my weight only if it goes down. In the past, if it stayed the same for two weeks in a row, I gave up, and stopped weighing all together. Also gave up on the diet of the month. Which probably explains why I needed the band ha ha ha.

I pledge to only weight once a week for the month of March! Anyone else with me?

I will focus on my NSVs, (non-scale victories). All the wonderful little things that happen to my body as I continue to lose weight and get healthier. Things that I won't see on the digital scale readout. Things I might not see at all if I am only looking at the arbitrary number on the scale. I will be a loser, not a number.

Who's with me?

No less than 7 times a day. Once in the morning before I use the bathroom, then once after I am done using the bathroom; before I eat lunch, after I eat lunch; before I eat dinner, after I eat dinner; before I go to bed; and a few times in between. If I wake up in the middle of the night to pee, I weigh myself then too.

UNREAL! After reading my own post, I am throwing the scale in the attic!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
