I'm having my band put in on Tuesday, Jan. 15th! What did your drs. have you eating/drinking the day before surgery?

i am allowed a light Breakfast on the day of the surgery cos it's in the afternoon! finally... toast!

I ate whatever I wanted up until midnight the night before.

Hi Aprilbene, I"m also on the 15th and I have to fast from midnight, but allowed to eat whatever I want. I didn't have a pre-op diet, I was lucky.

same here, no restrictions on food until midnight.....i had a small steak and a salad...and i would love to have the salad right now yum....but it is not a mushie lol

My doc was a little different, I had to be on a clear liquid diet for 24 hours prior to surgery. I was told that it was to lessen nausea after surgery. BTW I'm 1 week out from surgery and haven't been nauseous the first time!

I was on a Clear liquids diet for 3 days prior to surgery. I was told they have to manuver around the liver to put the band on our stomachs and that the clear liquids helped to shrink the liver.

Of course the best advice is always to follow your doc's advice. Good Luck.

12 days of 4 Optifast shakes and 2 Optifast bars, 2 days of clear liquids--my banding is tomorrow also!! (I lost 10 lbs.) Best of luck.

Good luck everyone that is getting band tomorrow. I am getting band tomorrow to. I didn't have to be on a diet either.
