I'm glad to have read this thread. I have been struggling since surgery. My hormones are seriously out of control. I finally realized that I have some pretty depressive episodes. I have an appt with my doc next week to get on some meds. Funny thing is, I did not have these issues when I got banded. That part does not make sense to me!

I take "Source of Life" chewable Vitamins. They are very large, but are very high quality and pretty tasty. They also sell a liquid, but I wouldn't recommend it. Also, most vitamins are better absorbed by your body if they are taken with fat. I take mine with my fish oil to ensure good absorption.

Thanks for the info Ricky. I really think that we ARE different,and I have purposefully been going a little slower than my diets allow. Its not that hard for me to continue on the liquids phase, I'm loving the sleeve for that! I was like you, I had a lot of scar tissue. I guess that is much better than erosion though.

I had my band to sleeve revision on Sept 7, so I'm currently on Day 12. I am really concerned about the post op diet phase. I was given 2different set of instructions for my post op. One set was given to me pre-op and one set was given post-op. There are significant differences between the two, and it makes me wonder if different instructions should be followed for a revision. Thoughts?

I have felt your pain, literally! It took a visit to my gyno, regular doc, and then a colorectal surgeon to get me sorted out. Here's what I recommend, first get a "Sitz" bath. I got mine at Walgreens. Its a little tub to sit your bottom in. Believe it or not soaking the area in hot Water 3 or 4 times a day will help them heal and make it feel somewhat better. Talk to your doctor about getting some lidocaine gel for the pain. I was given a compound with nitroglycerin in it. My problem was not the burning, but that my sphincter muscle spasmed nonstop. The nitroglycerin salve helped that. For the long haul I have been directed to take Miralax EVERYDAY! I have been on it for about 6months and I have not had any issues since.

I'm currently banded, and have had significant health problems due to the nutritional side of banding. I take "Source of Life" Vitamins. You can get either liquid or chewable, I like the taste of the chewable better than the liquid. They are more expensive than the stuff from walmart or walgreens, but the quality of nutrition is unsurpassed. When I told my doctor about the Flinstones that my surgeon recommends, he basically laughed his head off and told me the high number of patients he had with my same problems. i also take fish oil (liquid)' D3, liquid calcium citrate, CO-Q-10, and pro-biotics

I think it really depends on the person and their body...I'm 15 months post op and my skin around my port still has a numb area where the incision is.

I just ate a pork chop. Is my band going to get swine flu?

I was recently put on Cymbalta. I get looser as the day goes on, so I just take mine with my dinner, no problems yet, and I've got a good restriction level.

Just wanted to share a new catalog that I got the other day. The name is long tall sally, their website is www.longtallsally.com. They have some really great stuff for us tall gals and though most of their "regular" price stuff is a little high, it looks like they have really good sales. I've really grown tired of the limited selections from Eddie Bauer and JJill....

I just can't believe that Ron is still on the show. I love how he always said in the past that he would vote for someone "who can do it on their own at home". What BS... Why would you send Laura home and not Ron. There's no difference in their abilities IMHO.

I have lumps and bumps all over me too. I've seen both my regular doc and my gyno about them. I've been told the breast bumps I have are fibroids and not to worry, unless they grow or change. The other bumps my doc wasn't worried about, he just said it was from losing so much weight and they should reabsorb in a while. Just sharing my story, you should still see your doc if you are concerned.

Been a long time since I've been on here...I'm down 65 pounds ( I haven't updated my ticker, I'm at work and can't, its restricted). Moving from a size 14 to a 12. Finally got restriction after countless fills. I don't get on here very often at all now, but I do keep up my blog pretty regularly.

I also have the copper IUD. I had it about 3 years before lap-banding. I've been banded for over 10 months now and no ill effects.

No equipment problems, only user associated. I have not worn it in a long time. I got out of the habit and have not gotten back to it. It works great though, if you remember to wear it!

As of today, mine is down 28.1 %! But like MacMadame said, I still have more in it than I've put in it though.

Thanks for the concern, I could have been a teensy, weensy overdramatic. I'm okay though as far as my anxiety levels. Hope you're doing good, I read a post about you being sick. Sending you some good vibes. My hubby and I are the same. We don't have new and exciting electric gadgets, newest car is a 2004. I can't believe the statistics I read all the time about the average consumer's credit card debt. I think the last time I saw the avg it was about 8K. I'm proud to say I haven't carried any credit card debt in 10 years.

Hey guys, I know I haven't been very "involved" in the thread. I'm going to be though... I finished my first 5K yesterday. The official time was 49:03, thats a little slow though because I got stuck with the walkers. Lets just say there were some lessons learned yesterday. I would say I lost a good 2 minutes because of where I started. I was really scared because my training hadn't progressed as far as I would have liked. I had only made it to Week 5, but I just did the best I could. Its much different running on pavement and hills :cool2:
