Hey V's~

The site was down for about 20 min. I just got off the phone w/ TracyK!!! We had a great chat...I loved getting that call. We laughed and carried on like old friends...we are gonna have a wonderful trip! Can't wait.

I am still stuck in the shop in second life. I like Tracy's idea of the virtual pizza...I asked if virtual calories are as bad as real ones.

Help Laura!

Pam, I liked Tracys idea of a virtual pizza too!! I am with you can not stand Natalie. Her voice gets on my nerves something fierce!!! It was funny how Chelsia kept it cool until the last few days!!

My internet was down this morning and couldn't get on. I went to work missing my morning violet read!!!

THERE WAS NOT A CANCELLATION FOR THE FILL DR. SO NOW I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE END OF APRIL. I AM SOOOO MAD!!!! Venting should help me huh!

I hope you feel better Kat!!!

Well I also remembered that I forgot to do my tip yesterday!!! Bad Jane!

Tracy, I live on oatmeal, cream of wheat, Soups and ICE CREAM (nudge nudge wink wink) when I'm tight like that. It's a great excuse to have a shake from Jack in the Box....daily.

Hey Laura~

I just got back on. I got your PM w/ your number...and yes, I am still stuck in the Sintimacy Mall. Do you know what I am talking about? It looks like your kind of clothes...only kinkier! I was watching CSI yesterday and the Second Life stuff was on a rerun...so I was up until midnight watching Kity Kellman walk around a mall...I am such a nerd. Thanks, I may not get a chance to call you until Sunday afternoon...will that work. Susanne is home now and her mom will be here in the morning. Gonna be a busy weekend, but Sunday will be a bit slow.

And your right Terry...I need to get out of SL and go work on my homework! Call Kat...if she is not up to chat, she will let you know. Keep us posted and send her our love!

OK...gotta go. It is after 9pm and I am bushed and wanna watch the new TV and she is walking around working...gezzz...you'd think I would have taught her the fine art of "lazy" after 3 years togehter.

xoxoxoxoooxoxox

Have ya'll heard the Madonna and Justin song....LOVE IT!

Good morning everyone!

I drank coffee this morning without PBing! WOOT!

I really enjoyed talking to Pam last night. When we hung up the first time I was trying to get off the phone and get to the bathroom fast enough cause I was having a PB on orange juice! It was one of those throw the phone and run moments...so I called her back and apologized for the abrupt/rude hang up! lol She is right...we gabbed on the phone like we had been BFF for years! I can not wait to talk to the rest of my violet sistas! The trip is gonna be a blast!

Back down to 179 this morning. Amazing what no food or drink will do for you! Ugh...I am SO hungry. Weight might go back up when I can actually eat something and keep it down.

Terri-did you call Kat?

Have a great Friday everyone!

Morning girls

I need to get my shit together. I can't eat healthy to save my life. I guess i'm an emotional eater because i've been on self destruct since last week = I need to find something to occupy my mind but the SNOW I woke up to this morning is not helping. I wanted to hit the gym early but yuck... don't want to leave right now.

At least I've been back to the gym right?

Kat - this is not like you... let us know you are ok

Good Morning.

Up and slowly about this morning. I at least have taken my shower. Today is a work day than I have to take my sister shopping. Other than that I'm free for the rest of the day.

Yesterday I went to "Shoe Carnival" and got the buy one get one half off, so I bought 2 new pairs of walking shoes. Came home and put one pair on and took the dog fr a mile walk. It felt great. Just exactly want I needed.

I'm going to try putting some ribs in the crock pot and see how it goes. I've never done this before so not sure how they will turn out. I'll keep ya posted on them.

Everyone have a great day.

good morning!

Well phooey........ my weekend plans are quickly going in the crapper...

(((VENT AHEAD)))

Charles and Cody were scheduled to go boy scout camping this weekend and Robby and I were planning to spend tonight over at my sisters watching movies and eating "healthy" Snacks and slumber partyish... then tomorrow is my moms bday so I was going to suprise her with a visit and lunch.....

Well, Charles hurt his back and is now home moaning and groaning saying that he isn't going camping and can I please haul the 4 scouts and their gear out to Lawrence KS (the camp site)...... so now.. if I still go to my sisters he will be pouting at home because I left him alone......... but if I stay he will just be a pitiful grumpy ass who will annoy the crap out of me... not to mention Robby is looking forward to going.......... and then there is the factor that Cody will now NOT want to go if dad doesn't go......... so that will be a fight, and that IS NOT HOW I WANT TO SPEND MY WEEKEND!!!!!! Charles already hung up on me, telling me to call him back when I could manage NOT TO RAISE MY VOICE AT HIM............. gawd.. the pitty party has already started..... and I haven't called him back because I'm still pissed that he is ruining MY WEEKEND.... ((( end of vent )))

Hi girls. I'm finally feeling human again. Spent all day yesterday in and out of a fever fog. Luckily though I was able to drink all I wanted. Kat, I can't imagine what you're going through! Did anyone call her last night?

I have bronchitis and all the doctor said I could do is keep taking Tylenol for the fever and keep the humidifier on in my room. That really helped with my wheezing. Today I'm coughing a little bit but my body aches like I went one round with a boxer. I'm gonna keep taking the tylenol even though I don't have fever anymore.

The only good news to come out of this whole sickness...I'm down to 230.2. Woo hoo!! I haven't had an appetite and hopefully it doesn't come back for a few days. I'm terrible, aren't I?

I'll be back in a little while... I've gotta start tackling this email pile...

Tracyks, seems like you have a doomed weekend in front of you!!! I am glad about the Gruene trip! I bet when you are dealing with more than just one person things do get in the way!!!

I was only sick Friday and part of Saturday. It was one of those things that was quick. I did manage to lose about 5 pounds during it. I just wish it was after the weight challenge so I could claim that!!!

I hope all other sick violets get well!!!

Off to work!!

Jane

Good Morning, Violets..

Kat.. I sure hope you're feeling better today.

Haydee...glad to see you're shaking whatever you had.

Suzie... Looks like you complete the trio! Hope everyone is feeling good enough to enjoy the weekend coming up.

I'm eating blueberries and cottage cheese right now. Haven't had it for months since I got tired of it. But it sure tastes good again. And the blueberries were not that expensive right now. For awhile it was like buying golden nuggets and they didn't taste that good.

Ethan comes at noon and I'll be watching my guy on the View at 11.

We're going to Home Depot tonight to get paint for the front door and the breezeway so you know how my Saturday is playing out. Sunday we go back to our church we used to serve 24 years ago. We were there for 11 years and it will be interesting to see everyone. It's only an hour away, but we haven't been back there except for maybe once or twice. That's the tough part about being a pastor. Once you leave, it's ethically tough to go back without an invitation.

Don't know if anyone called Kat last night, but I'm so hesitant to do that when I know someone isn't feeling well. Hopefully she's feeling better this morning.

Well, I need to go get some things done before the View comes on. Everyone have a good morning. TTFN..

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
