NEW! 2008 Shrinkin' Vi's Trip Planning Thread!!

Recommended Posts

I wish we could go together TracyK----I need one so bad, but keep waiting---my shape is nothing I want seen in a bathing suit at this point!!! I am all hanging belly----------yeeeeeeuuuuucccckkkkk!!!

I took my old suit with us when Rick and I went somewhere, probably Albq to his Dr. and we hit the hot tub, late, just the 2 of us, to unwind....it was fine when it was dry--------just a bit big. But when it got wet! OMG---I was so glad it was just the 2 of us!!! The weight of the wet fabric made it hang--the crotch of the suit was almost to my knees!!! I wrapped a towel around me and flapped my way back to the room!!!

So yeah I need one too!

As for some of the rooms-------if they are bigger, as in suites, we can do more than 2 to a room maybe?

However it works out is good by me.

Going to go read the other thread, see what is up today...

Will we be swimming? Scary thought for me trying on a bathing suit! I am not worried about all you gals, its just the others that would see me.

As far as a roommate goes, no big deal Michelle, like I said before whatever and I really mean it. Even if there is not a room mate left I can sleep by myself in another room or sleep on someones fold out couch if rooms are an issue.

Not sure I am up to facing off with all the hard bodies in a swim suit either Jane!!!

There will be plenty to do if we opt not to swim!!!

TracyK - I'll be happy to go shopping with you! I'm sure we'll find a weekend between now and then.

There are some great suits out there now that can really keep you all tucked in....like a big ol' SPANX! lol They're usually on the expensive end (like $65-100) but they do the job!! Dillard's always has many to choose from...that's where I usually end up buying a suit. I'll bet Penney's has 'em too.

Terry, I'll get back to you later. Waiting for my dad to get back to me, so I can find out what kind of rooms are available during that time. Hopefully, there's no major exciting events going on that weekend

I'm excited about bathing suit this year! Even in my 300+lb glory, I always wore tankinis (always long enough to not show belly, and boy shorts instead of bikini bottoms).

I still plan on the same style, but it will be a much smaller size and hopefully I fit well into it! I'm not buying a swimsuit anytime soon, I'm still losing steadily, so I hope to be at least a solid size 16 when the real swim season is here!

I already got rid of my old bathing suits, they're worthless to me now! They're all size 24/26.

Well, I am counting on the indoor pool being open LATE at night so I can go swimming. If not, the people can just stare if they want to. I have sat on the sidelines too many years. It's funny, I remember in August when I was SO nervous to even go in a swimsuit in front of my family at dd birthday party, remember that? My how things change.

If anyone can understand about those not wanting to swim, its me!!

Woops, I was so frazzled I posted it in the wrong thread.

I asked him if he wanted to go, he said he can't plan that far out in advance with work.

I'm so so sorry, he said he's sorry too, he thought he could just get the rooms. But they said he had to be there (I guess so they know money is gonna be dropped!!).

This is such a bummer.

Michelle I hand the torch back to you, and I'm gonna sit quietly in the corner.

Laura,

Can we still go and get a block of rooms at a discounted rate? How much are the rooms anyway? Just cause they are not free, doesn't mean this is a wash, right? I mean, we were gonna drop some $ on the other thingy too, plus airfare. Anyone wanna come to Palm Springs? Just kidding, or am I:cool:?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
