Roberta's surgery - Dec 28th

Recommended Posts

Hi Roberta! Thanks for all the surgery info. Sounds like you are doing well. Did you have to find a dietician on your own or did your doctor send you to one? Joyce

Hi there! I was also banded on Dec 28th! It has been much more difficult than I thought it would be. I guess I just wanted to believe it was easy. Are you having trouble eating (well if thats what you want to call swallowing liquids)?? I can hardly eat anything at all. I am pretty much stuck on slim fast and Tomato Soup. I hope its going better for you : )

Hi Joyce,

the nutritionist works at the hospital..my doctor didn't send me to her...his post-op diet and hers are completely different, so I'm kinda taking the middle road on it...still on liquids like he wants, but no solids like she wants me to.

Oh wow, I'm not sure if I should say you are lucky or to say sorry!:smile:For the first week whenever I drank everything 'bubbled up' and I had to burp after every single drink... and I could barely drink anything, I filled up so fast. Is that what you are going through? That's where I lost most of my weight.

Now it's different, it's like I don't have the band in me.

26 more days until my first fill.

No, It just get a really bad pain and it feels like (and sometimes does) its going to come back up. Its getting a little better. I was able to eat some vegetable Soup today and eat some of the vegetables that were soft and mushy. But even that after just about half of it gave me that horrible feeling.

Airika, I was banded on the 28th as well and I can say I def don't have that problem. I am actually eating fish and chicken and soft veggies no problem. I almost wish I had that kind of restriction but not here. I go on the 28th of this month and hopefully I will get a fill. I would call your Dr if it gets any worse. I know everyone is different so don't sweat it too much. Good luck!!

269!!!

I haven't weighed in the 260's since 2006!

I'm using my BODYBUGG now. I almost achieved my target deficit of 1600 calories, I reached 1356 :(. My goal is to lose 3 lbs a week so that I can be at my goal weight by the end of this year.

Hi all,

just wanted to post an update.

I had my second fill on Monday and since then I have lost approx. 10 lbs. Unbelievable. I was about 271 then weighed myself this morning and I am at 260.8.

My total now is 26 lbs since Dec 28th.

My knees aren't hurting as much when I go down the stairs now. A few days ago I had to grip the railing and go down really really slow. My knees feel soooooooo much better now.

I am at 7.5 cc's in a 9 band.

you using bodybugg also?? heh me 2.

I'm eatting like 1.1k-1.3k cal day and burning about 3.8k on my busy day (gym+2job) and 1.1k-1.3k cal and burning 2.8k (gym+1job)... my 1 job i dont move around much... desk job but other job im on foot for hours.

Good luck on your weight lost... im sure you going to make it since you watching your cal intake and burning closely.

Quick question.. did you purchase the digital display also? I was thinking but if I keep working out morning and work during day... i can always check at night at home if I need to go to gym that day at night... just my thought ;p

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
