Sleeved 12/7 - I swear I don’t feel like I even had anything done besides zero hunger and 16 pounds lost. No pain meds. No issues with getting fluids or any Protein source down. No sleeping issues except maybe a little insomnia but I’ve always had that so nothing new. 🥳 one week into my new better self.

That’s amazing!! How long did you do the liver reducing for?

I have my op on Tuesday in the UK. We have to liver reduce for 3 weeks and so far I’m already nearly 20lb down. Will be going into surgery about 270lb, I’m just so ready for it now!!!

Just got sleeved Monday December 11th. Surgeon said everything was perfect and my liver shrinking diet worked. Nurse said I was her best sleeve patient ever. Very little pain, no nausea, and no vomiting.

Dayl, That is terrific! I hope you continue to feel well, what a wonderful start!

I had my gastric sleeve on December 04, 2023. I am so hungry being on liquids only. Hard to keep my mind off the hunger. I am very excited for having my surgery but I’m just so hungry.

Well the good thing is you are at the three week mark and can soon start puréed stage. That is only a week then soft food and then onto regular. Just focus on each day getting it done and then find something to occupy your time. Make sure you’re getting your Water in. 4 more weeks will be done in no time.

Hello friends!
I just had my GS surgery on 12/14 after waiting in the hospital 2 days to get my acidosis back on track. The rumors about the gas is no joke. It’s not easy to force yourself to get up and walk not to eat or drink when you feel so weak, but I encourage you-do it anyway. The sips of broth that I had today gave me enough energy to walk around. Walking around helped some of the air to be released, which of course made me feel better. I have over 10lbs worth of gas in me according to the scale going into the surgery vs coming out. That’s a lot! Are there any medications that you guys have used to assist with the gas pains? My surgeon prescribed me something for the cramps, and nausea and just general pain, but nothing specifically for gas. Even my incisions don’t hurt as bad as this has! Shew!

I wanted to take Gas X chewables but the surgeon didn't want me to. I walked a lot and used a massage gun on gas bubbles to help break them up. I had mine on the 11th and no longer have gas pains. I used a heat pad as well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
