I’m at 16 days post op but mine only started on day 12, it feels like a pulled muscle… with shooting pains and I’m hunched over because I can’t stand up! I hope it goes away soon!!

Definitely normal, since they did cut through your muscles. I would try an ice pack or some meds for sure! It is super helpful I think. I also felt like when using a pillow to kind of “brace” your tummy, helps out too.

I have to wait until two week post op visit to start purée. Started some back pain today. I think I’m just carrying myself differently to be gentle on my stomach.

I know that is my part of my issue too. Being gentle on the stomach, walking differently which is causing back pain and such. I’m hoping we both get some relief soon!

Shock and BBob: I hope you both feel better and do your best to walk slowly, so you don't want differently.

Best wishes to you both. :)

I think my pain is mostly just over-exertion from pushing it too much. Probably need to chill a little bit. Had some milk thinned instant mashed potatoes for diner which was a great reprieve from all of the sweet shakes.< /p>

My Pre-op diet starts on Wednesday.. My husband and boys want me to pick my 2 last dinners for a while.. Trying to decide what I want to eat... It is crazy how they are thinking about my " last meals".. Here to about a week until surgery

Has anyone experienced diarrhea after starting purée? I started purée Saturday. My doctors office is supposed to call today so I'm checking with them when they do

I have. I'm doing purees this week and apparently most of what I've tried my stomach doesn't like. Avocado? Tastes awful. Ricotta and Tomato sauce? Too acidic, that was diarrhea for sure, and stomach pain. Refried Beans? More diarrhea. LOL The only thing that seems to pass without objection is eggs, yogurt, and fish (my surgeon told me I could eat fish early). It seems this sort of trial and error is very common at this stage.

LOL It's nice they are getting on board, even if it is over concern for your "last meals". I made sure I had korean bbq before surgery since that's the only meal I love that actually requires stomach capacity to enjoy! My "last" meal though was a few slices of really good pizza and a cocktail, since DS patients have to eat low carb post surgery and I knew I wouldn't be eating pizza like that again. And my surgeon says no alcohol for a year... Enjoy your food celebration before your pre-op diet!!

I’m kinda bummed I really didn’t do any last meals. I was traveling at the start of my preop diet so my actual last meal was a sandwich at the Minions Cafe in Universal Studios. Nothing too crazy. I made some hard toffee tonight for my son’s Thanksgiving party and did pretty good though I maybe snuck a lick off the spoon of melted chocolate before I threw it in the sink.

Quick update, I had my Sleeve yesterday. The first 8 hours was rough with the gas, but it started easing up considerably around midnight. Feeling MUCH better this morning though! Walking + Gax-X made a huge difference. Definitely do what they say regarding that to break up the gas pains. I had to get up every 2 hours to do some walking, but I got some really good sleep in between. So far so good! Hope everyone else is doing well!

I just had my surgery yesterday. So I am day 1 with two shakes and Water. Let me tell you. Not much pain from surgery but lost of gas and it can be painful. They say I must wait it out. Didn’t expect this. Getting better but first day was hard. Anyone else have this?

It will last for a few days!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! The food may not be traditional this year, but it is still time to be thankful with family and friends.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
