Not hungry, at gain of 20lbs, HELP!!!!

Recommended Posts

The pouch reset is a bit of a urban myth. Returning to better eating habits like when you first reached goal is best & a more sustainable eating style & behaviour for the long term.

You said you don’t feel hungry but you’ve fallen back into old habits like snacking. It may be helpful to seek the support of a therapist to discover why you are eating when not hungry. Many people find therapy very beneficial in working out the why of their eating & strategies to change behaviours & manage the habits, cravings, etc. Get in contact with your dietician too to ensure you’re on the right track in regard to food choices.

All the best.

I think snacking is sabotaging my weight loss too. I'm not hungry and I am 5 weeks out from surgery. I stopped losing weight. I know people say there always a plateau or stall, but mine has been 3.5 weeks long! Still only tracking 900-1100 calories per day, and going on walks, but the scale isn't moving.

Stalls are extremely common @rparker3313. Everyone experiences at least one with the first usually occurring at about week 3 & they usually last 1-3 weeks. Some start earlier or later or last longer. But your snacking won’t be helping and, like with @RDC2019, therapy will likely be of help to you to so you can discover why you’re snacking when you’re not hungry. It’s sabotaging your weight loss.

Snacks tend to be high calorie foods with poor nutrition & especially when you’re still so early out the nutritional value of what you’re eating is essential for your health & for your body to function effectively. Protein, protein, protein. Eat it first & then when your plan allows eat some vegetables & lastly, if you’re able a little fruit or low processed multi/whole grains in a meal. I remember being able to eat my protein & maybe a green bean or two or a cauliflower floret & that was all for a meal for about three months.

Never hungry, but either don't eat or reach back to old bad habits for snacking. Any advice? I think I'll do the 5 day pouch reset. Anyone else with similar situation? Please respond.

Thank you for your response. Gonna figure it out, I know it's from stress and my back problems. Hopefully with my new spinal cord stimulator and the go ahead to exercise, getting back to some normalcy and being more mobile, I'll be back on track!

After my new spinal cord stimulator implant and getting the go ahead to exercise, I'm in a better headspace to do what's right! The stress of my back issues, not being able to exercise put me in a terrible spot. I'm getting it together and will be doing my Protein Shakes and/or eating my protein first, vegetables if I can get them in and go back to making my snacks fruit, sugar free popsicles...! Thank you so much! Blessings!

WOW by the Grace of God 17 years ago I went to Mexico and had a lap band put on for weight loss and my waist was 64 inches and That’s more than 5 foot around and 18 stone my weight was 375 pounds. Today I went shopping for not sweats and I succeeded. I found pants and a shirt at an awesome price at Burlington by the way. But the real story here is, today. My waist is 45 inches and my weight is 260. Both incredible numbers but think about this. My waist is almost 20 inches smaller around Wow that’s a brain wrecker. Still, I love my band I even celebrate it’s birthday 10-26-06 FYI-it’s kind of like choking yourself, and never letting go. And trying to eat. lol Life is good

Hi all! I’m Heidi, a Canadian ex-Pat living in Sydney, Australia. I’m doing this surgery because my mom died 10 years ago from obesity, she lived her own 600lbs life.  So at 116kg, it’s time to make sure my daughters don’t lose their mom to obesity.

Drinking my favorite Premier Protein Shake for breakfast, and planned a nice healthy lunch today. Protein first, Veg second, then fruit, and carbs last.  💪
