StLouisGal when is your date I still see at TBA on your signature.???!

What's going on over there in StLouis?

Wouldn't be awesome if we got the same date!!

No preop from what I was told at initial consult but that can change when I go for my second consult on Jan 30 after the surgeon reviews all the lab testing results.

I am still putting myself on a liquid diet for 5 days prior to surgery just so I can mentally be ok with it. After reading so much about the liver this and the liver that....I'd rather help the situation even if not required.

How about you do you have a preop diet?

I'm still in a holding pattern. I go for my pre-op classes and testing next Wednesday. They will schedule the surgery then. I am hoping for mid Feb but it all depends on what additional testing the surgeon wants. It's kind of a pain but whatever it takes to make this a safe surgery. :)

In the mean time I am trying to lose a little weight on my own. I've lost about 10 pounds and feel much, much better.

I think my surgeon only operates at my hospital on Wednesdays but I'm not 100% sure about that either.

I'm still hanging in and looking forward to Wednesday.:)

Congratulations 4jin on getting your surgery date.

I am back... my surgery was Tuesday and I got home on Wednesday, but I have been resting a lot. Everything went really well. I am not too sore and I am healing nicely.

StLouisGal, I hope you get your date soon.

Yay :) I am so glad you both are getting so close to getting your bands too. All your support while waiting really helped me get through.

Congratulations to you guys...I have had everything done and waiting. I just got back from a cruise/feeding frenzy!!! I will be emailing my surgeon's assitant tomorrow to see where I'm at. I'm hoping they will submit to insurance soon. I'm hoping for a February date!!! I so hope I don't go through what everyone here seems to have gone through with insurance! I have BC/BS in Connecticut so I think it won't be a hassle

Good luck to you all!!!

sharon:)

Welcome back AMY!!!!

Glad you are doing well on the banded side!

Nice...hope your healing time goes fast and well.

I have been so busy getting the house prepared taking care of the bills and trying to do my homework ahead of schedule so I don't have to worry about it after surgery for at least 6 days.

Sharona good luck, I hope you join us soon with your approval. Did you enjoy the cruise?

ST. Louis Gal, Don't you have to be scheduled within a certain number of days after your approval? Check your letter because you were approved on January 9th. It would suck if you were approved and not done in time.

My letter doesn't specify a date in the letter. I will be scheduled as of Wednesday. Apparently this is the way my clinic always does it. I will be sure and ask if there is a time limit when I see the doctor on Wednesday. Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it.

Oh yes that is definitely true. My letter said approval until March 16, 2008.

StLouisGal,

But it probably depends on the State you live in and their regulations. I am confident you wont have to wait more than 15 days to surgery once you schedule it.

I got my approval and had got banded on 01/21/08.... exactly one week post op... I am so glad I did.... I had a lot of swelling inside hence I could barely swallow liquids which totally sucked but it now looks like I can take in as many liquids as I wish and I am glad I can do that. I will try my best to stick to the liquid diet and take as many as I can.

I am hoping to have my surgery in February. I had my last psych appt on Wed Jan 23, so I am waiting for her report to be sent to insurance. Ic hecked on this, and they told me the report is still in the typing phase and it hasn't been sent to my Dr yet. This is all very frustrating, as they tell me I should hear somenthing by Mid Feb from Insurance. I just want to have the surgery in February, I hope that they can get their acts together and get my paperwork submitted. It is so maddening dealing with Dr's offices and insurance companies!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
