I’m juuuuust about 3 weeks out and as a die hard New Englander, i drink iced coffee year round. I haven’t had any caffeine in over a month. I cut it out during the pre op diet. When did everyone start adding coffee back in? I’m a milk only person with my iced coffee so no, I’m not missing the sugar, just my delicious iced coffee on warm sunny days.

So, coffee is my weakness. They told me to cut it out during my pre op which was a week and I did. I am 4 days post op today and I had my first cup. Just make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids. They told me the reason they tell you to cut out caffeine is because it's a diuretic causing you to urinate more and you need to keep all your fluids

They served me coffee at the hospital!

I went back to drinking my daily 500ml thermos of coffee in the mornings at around 1 month post op (but i drink it black)

My plan said don’t drink coffee for the first month. I had some 2 weeks post-op. No problems.

I didn’t drink coffee regularly before surgery so I declined it, but was offered coffee in the hospital. The surgeons opinions are all over the place about caffeine though.

My Dr. said I could go back to my coffee/caffeine habit at about 2-4 weeks post op. Once I was getting all my Protein and normal fluids.

There was no restriction to caffeine intake on my programme and boy was I glad - am a caffeine addict and that would have been the final nail in the coffin.

Really nice to see you back posting SunshinePrincess - we're all here to support you on your journey. Hope everything is going well for you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
