My surgery is on Tuesday 12/18

Hi all, as I am sure this will be a major life changing experience, I am glad to have found these support boards.

I decided back in september that it was time for me to get the band. I have been overweight most of my life with one small 'skinny' spell back in my teens.

I have gone up and down in weight (like very BIG amoutns 50lbs ++ ) at a time over the years with diets and the weight always came back full force + some.

I am now 31 and weigh a little over 300lbs, and i need to be more down towards 200lbs with an ideal weight of around 180 (i am tall heh).

I swore i would never get surgery for my weight loss problem, both my sister and mother had bands put in 3 years ago and both have lost over 100lbs each and kept it off. I just thought that my sheer willpower alone I could diet the weight off.

Finally in september I made the plans for the band, got the loan and I go in on tuesday. (cash pay ouch ).

I want to get my energy back and the ability to be more active with my son without feeling tired so much.

I am still a bit worried about having surgery, the last surgery i had was when i was 3 years old and had my appendix out. I have not had a lot of health problems throughout my life, just my weight. But I had a feeling if I didnt do something about my weight, that I would start to get a lot of health problems.

Anyways, sorry for my rambling, but just introducing myself, and joining the forums and still a bit nervous about tuesday.
