Hey Cindy.

Just found this thread. I will chime in too!

Banded on 11-28. From my max weight at start of my pre-op diet I am down 40 lbs. Have lost 20 since Sx.

I have held steady at 360 for a week now. I plan to make that scale move again when I go in for my first fill on 1-2-08. I might have a chance to weigh at the docs office next week, but not sure. It is going to drive me crazy going 2 weeks between weigh-in's.

Here's to a new year and a great Play-off season!

Go BOYZ!

n.

  1. Greek & Roman Mythology. Any of numerous minor deities represented as beautiful maidens inhabiting and sometimes personifying features of nature such as trees, waters, and mountains.
  2. A girl, especially a beautiful one.
  3. The larval form of certain insects, such as silverfish and grasshoppers, usually resembling the adult form but smaller and lacking fully developed wings. Also called nympha.

I think we've been going with the first or second definition, which is why the guys don't quite identify.

When I voted on Nymph in the November Name Poll, I was thinking about the insect form of Nymph. I forgot about the Mythological reference. I was wondering why everybody had those lil wing-ed ladies on their sig line. I suppose I will have to get a nice picture of a grub worm or something!:heh:

I was banded 11-08 and was doing good until week 5. Got a bad port site infection. Went to Dr. and they said it would get better. Came back a few says later because it was much worse. Now on super antibiotics and couldn't get 6week fill, and I am hungry! Good news it is getting better and I'm supposed to get my fill on day after Xmas. Ihave lost 37 Lbs. in 2&1/2 mos., pre and post op. Good luck to everybody else.

Love, Kat

Cag-

You make me laugh! Not as bad as me not knowing what I was putting on my signature line. I am so niave. Think that's why my husband married me. He gets a good laugh every now then when things come out of my mouth.

Kat-

Holy Smoke! You have been through an ordeal. What I like to see is your attitude. It has not swayed you against the Band. Keep up the great attitude and you will be successful in no time.

Best Wishes.

Cindy

Cagstrom,

Here in Montana, we are especially fond of the larval (vs. mythological) nymphs, as the blue-ribbon trout find them to be irresistable. I am sure the ladies will feel the same about you as you progress on the band journey (if they don't already). :)

Hi and congrats to all you amazing November bandsters! I had my surgery Nov 26th and am down 15 pounds. Christmas has me out of my exercise routine and there are way too many goodies around. I'm trying to just take it one day at a time. First fill is not set till around the end of January. I will be very ready for it I am sure. It sure is wonderful to see the scale going down instead of up for the first time in a long time!!! Keep up the great work everyone!

Barb

Surgery was 11/27. Down 16 since pre-op appt and 14 since surgery. No pre-op diet required except Clear liquids 2 days before sx.

Had one fill on 12/20 of 2cc's and was told I would not get restriction from it and haven't.

Next fill is 1/3/8. The band is helping me have more willpower than I've ever had OR is being afraid to eat too much and get PB's or vomit? Not sure, but whatever it is I'm happy about it.

Goal is to get to 198 by 12/31, one week and 2 pounds to go.

Got thru X-mas pretty well. No overeating at all and NO drinks or dessert.:clap2:

On the downside, I have not exercised at all.;)

i had some Cookies and chocolate...too hard to resist

No need to resist it is the amount and how often....LOL I chose banding because I would not have to GIVE UP anything, only rechange amounts and how often I eat them. I had two bites of chocolate myself over the holidays. It was enough, I have limited sugar so much it does not take much to make me satisfied with it.

Just wanted to let you know Miztr......that you should not be beating up on yourself....and allow a bite of this or that now and then.

oh...i'm definately NOT beating myself up over it...just acknowledging that i had some, and will have a few peices a day intil what i got for the holidays is gone...difference is a bag lasts much much longer than 1 day now!

I was banded on Nov. 16 and am down 28 lbs! Yay! That's much better than I expected, given that I was a fairly low BMI to start with. My first fill is Jan. 15.

Banded 11/15 - Consult weight - 434 - Pre op 410 Last visit 388 - I can tie my own shoes now. Now to get up and get on that treadmill in the spare room. I will I will I will!!!!
