BMI vs. body fat percentage
My surgeon use a BodPod to measure your Fat % ratio to Lean mass Ratio and it also give you the # of Calories you need to maintain your current weight if sedintary or active or very active. I went from a BMI of 47 before surgery to 36 today. I also have lowered my fat % to 49% it was 59% so I think that is an improvement but I was very disappointed that it was not more. I work out 6 days a week religiously and my body as changed enormously in the 6 months since surgery. Both in mass and fat at least to the naked eye. When I tell people that I still want to lose 70 more pounds they think I am nuts. I am just looking at my body not at the numbers anymore because it is so depressing.

Do you follow the band rule?
I wait the 30 minutes before and after a meal to drink. I too have trouble getting in all the water I need because I try to get 12 glasses a day since with my workouts I need more, and that is really pushing it. I know this works at keeping me full, I push water and water and more water!! LOL

Do You Regret Getting Banded ??? VOTE !
It has certainly been the best decision of my life. I have gone from 287 2 215 pounds in 6 months. I have gone from a tight size 28 to a size 16 and I have actually bought size 14 jeans....YEAH! I feel better than I have in over 20 years, and I work out 6 days a week and I am sure that my energy is coming from those workouts. My stress level has gone from 90 to a 10 and that was worth every bit of it. I feel more confident than I ever have in my life that I will be a healthy weight by my band anniversary. I am thrilled beyond belief and I thank everyone here that has given me the encouragement to keep going when the scale is not moving as I want it too!!

First Pair of 14 Jeans!!
This is my new reality. I have gone from a size 28 that was too tight, in just a short 5 months to a size 14. I bought them last yesterday and I love them. I am so proud of myself. Although I have seen little to no scale movement in the past month I have seen my size go down 2 pant sizes so things are a changing. I am thrilled with my BAND and it is certainly my best friend. I still have no fill and will talk about this with my surgeon next month on the 13th when I see him for my 6 month check. What a great feeling it is!!`

Saying GoodBye to SIZE 20's FOREVER!!
Hang in there Karen just keep fighting to get the Band, even if the insurance says NO don't stop there you can fight them they work for you afterall. I bill medical insurance all day long it is my job. If I can be of any help let me know! Thanks for the kind words about my son, it hurts to this day. But yes I have finally realized eating was not really helping my pain..... It was a nice realization because it has allowed me to focus on getting better. I know my food addiction is still there I just have control of it now, and I plan on having it forever!!

Saying GoodBye to SIZE 20's FOREVER!!
Yes I work out six days a week religiously. I can tell you the work out is worth every minute of it too. It maked me feel great and at the same time it is reshaping my body. I have followed the plan strictly. I do not eat more than I should be at one sitting, and I drink lots and lots of Water. I just don't have issues with food anymore.....I instead eat because my body needs it. I don't comfort myself by eating anymore. The weight has just come off. I am amazed as you are, I know that I am working hard at staying the course.....there is nothing that will cause me to detour I can tell you. I am too happy with my success to date to sabatoge myself. I can feel ONDERLAND just around the bend.....LOL

Saying GoodBye to SIZE 20's FOREVER!!
I went shopping today and I found a pair of Angel jeans that I absolutely loved and just had to have. They have butterflies embroidered on the legs and with sequins I just adore them. Well they only had a size 16 no 18 so I thought what the hell.....I tried those babies on and they slid right on and zipped easily.......I was blown away and still am. I cannot believe it! It has been 15 years since I had on size 16 jeans....LOL The band is my friend!!

Size 20's are gone FOREVER!!!!
I was a tight 26-28 when I began......I was 287 pounds the week before my surgery. I am so happy that I am no longer in the 20+ sizes I cannot begin to tell you how great it feels. Thanks everyone, for your support!!
-
How much exercise do you get?
I work out 6 days a week at the Healthclub we joined three months before my surgery. I do Water aerobics three times a week and a body pump class and then the other days I alternate weight training and the treadmill and stationary bike.....I am addicted to my working out and I feel so so much better from it. I can run up three flights of stairs and I could barely climb three sets of stairs before my surgery. I can't say enough about moving your butt.....I have had no gains of weight since my surgery......and I have had no fill either!

I Love Kashi Cereal and it has great fiber and crunch and PROTEIN as well.!!

I need support
Remember the band is for slower weightloss, you are right on the average so that is great. Also the slower the weight comes off the more likely your skin will react better as well. We all want instant results, but honestly we did not put this weight on overnight, nor will it come off over night. With all of that being said, I believe that staying the course and working your butt off is the answer for the large weight loss that you will see with the BAND. I know that I am not the norm here, I have lost a trememndous amount of weight in a short time, and it is becuase I want it so bad, that I do not deter from the healthy eating nor do I stop pushing my butt harder at the gym. This has all paid off in a really big way for me. You are doing great, so do not beat up on yourself too badly. We all have had days I am sure where we ate something that we said wow perhaps I could have eaten better, but you are not gaining back any weight so that is why you were banded to begin with. Remember "Steady wins the race" You will do it, just remain focused.

Fear nagging my heart
Do you have any symptoms of slipping? Are you throwing up or PBing all of the time? I doubt it has slipped. This is not as common as it once was because of how they now attach the band. If you are worried and have symptoms, definately call your DR do not wait though.
