Band to Sleeve question about work

Hello all,

I am new here and have surgery scheduled for 03/24. My question is this: My surgery (Band to Sleeve) is on Thursday at a surgery center. Go home that day (Lord willing) and come back the next day for a bag of fluids. So, will I be able to go sit at my desk at answer phone and such on Monday? Has anyone else done that? I am self employed and work with my (very supportive) hubby.

Thank you all in advance!

Recovery is all over the map but my guess is if you are having the band removed same day that you may have a little more pain then those of us that just had the sleeve. I had very little pain post surgery but some others have a lot. It is just very individual. I would say the fact that you work from home and that you work for yourself will definitely make it easier to transition back. I assume you will be able to nap if you needed to. That’s what I would have needed if anything.

I was able to drive a few days after both surgeries (I had sleeve, then revision to bypass). I'm surprised they're sending you home the same day of the surgery however.

Regardless, by Monday you should be OK to sit at a desk and answer the phone, just make sure you schedule some time every two hours to walk around a bit.
