Surgery October 11th- how are you feeling?

Hello!

I am new here! My surgery was on October 11th.

I just wanted to see how people were feeling who had their surgery around the same time?!

I just started pureed foods last week. My go to's have been: cottage cheese, scrambles egg whites with cheese, and fat free re-fried beans with cheese (all the cheese I guess haha).

I tried pureed canned chicken for the first time yesterday with low-fat mayo and Dijon mustard and it wasn't bad! I am happy that I have been able to tolerate most things.

Give me some updates-- what has your life been like since surgery in the last month?

Looking forward to the replies ? Thank you and nice to meet you all in advance!

Hi! I had my surgery on 10/11, too! I’ve been feeling pretty good actually. I haven’t had any issues with foods (although I miss bread, I really want a good deli sandwich). I’ve been good about listening to my stomach when it’s full and not over eating. My go to was scrambled eggs and the ricotta bake for dinner!

I moved onto soft foods today, had 1 hard boiled egg with a turkey sausage patty, and chicken salad with avocado for lunch so far! And keeping up with my water and vitamins although sometimes it’s hard to get to the 64oz of water every day without wanting to chug.

Yes! I was surprised at how quickly I felt better!! I am so glad you are feeling good also!

OMG... bread...I miss it too!!! and coffee...even just a cup of black coffee would be heaven right now lol.

That all sounds great! I am looking forward to getting to the part where I don't have to throw stuff in the blender anymore.

The water is hard to get down...I do want to just chug when I am thirsty and it seems like if I drink it too fast it makes my bowels move too quickly! ?

Well hang in there! And I am excited to share this journey with you! Appreciate you responding!

Hi there!

Had my surgery 10/6, the few days were rough. I did not any pain mediation home. I'm feeling great but sure do miss coffee with sugar.

My biggest challenge is drinking enough water. It's difficult to drink every 15 minutes.

Anyone interested in being part of buddy support group that meets via zoom or Fbook?

Stay the course, follow the plan and take Vitamins!!
