Any December 2021 bypass people?

Well I have a date for December set. Hopefully everything goes through with insurance since my nutrition class for December is a little earlier in the month, but otherwise things seem to be on track. Just wondered who else might be a December RNY out there???

Thanks, I remember that I lost nothing for a full week after my original surgery, so I’m good.

Those of you who were last week - how has your recovery been? My surgery is tomorrow and I’m hoping to go back to work Monday the 20th.

good luck with your surgery. I have my surgery tomorrow also. praying all goes well.

I'm scheduled for RNY bypass on December 22nd! Currently suffering through the liquid diet and counting down the days!

I'm post op 8 days and I'm really struggling with craving to just eat something since I am still only on liquids. I just want something to sink my teeth into and chew. Anyone else experience this or have tips?

I had my RNY three days ago and everything went well. I’m still really sore, but the pain is manageable with pain meds. Still belching gas from surgery out, and hoping that will stop soon. I’ve been content just drinking water. I don’t feel any hunger at all, and that’s been a relief since I was starving during the 2 week Preop liquid diet.
I would like to know when the pain subsides. Everyone keeps saying it gets a little better each day, but when is it gone?

Had my RNYGB on 12/15 was discharged with drain on 12/19. Got drained removed yesterday. I had two other procedures done in addition to gastric bypass. Still in a lot it pain and nausea. Liquids only.
Taking it one day at a time.
Merry Christmas to all.

Hi there. Newbie just dropping in. I had a Gastric Bypass 12.21.21.

Weight Dec 2020 - 364lb

Weight on Surgery Date - 316lb

Recovering from surgery now, checking out this forum....

Welcome.

I had my RNY Bypass on 12/15.
starting weight 282 HW 287 Current weight 270

Recovering from surgery too Got drain removed on 12/23 Pain is still real Can only tolerate clear liquids still

I had a full gastric bypass over 20 yrs ago and have struggled to eat any meat. I needed to lose almost 100 lbs because of heart issues and that worked out well, but have since gained just a few back. I am now losing so much hair because I can’t get enough protein. I am doing keto because it makes me feel better not to eat breads and beans. Anybody struggling with this that has had the surgery a while ago? I can’t drink enough protein. My family dr doesn’t seem to know much about more than broken bones and colds. HELP, I’m going to go bald if I can’t fix this. Any suggestions for my doctor?

Surgery is in the morning and I can’t sleep.

Hey there,

I had my surgery on 12/21/21. I am plugging along 1st week post. A lot of pain on my left upper and lower abdomen. My doctor said that is where the majority of the manipulation was. Each day is better. Already down 10 pounds. Anyone else having pain in their right side post op?
